I need help with my computer. Any knowledgable people out there?

This is driving me crazy! When I click on anything it takes forever for whatever it is to come up. The cursor turns into the hand and stays there for a couple of minutes. The bar at the bottom with the green lines takes forever too. I haven't been able to read my yahoo mail for two days. I have broadband that's supposed to be so fast...lol...but right now it isn't.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why it does this? I'm going nuts waiting for everything to come up.

i am damn sure your computer has caught some virus.just try to get your pc formatted from your dealer this is the same problem with me. Or might be your data is overloading your RAM. try to check out with what is the exact problem,.but before getting it formatted do take the backup of your C drive. as a handy.

I thought it was a virus too but I have a good virus protection program and when I ran it it was fine. As for data overload how do I do that?
