Why pyramid structures has been built and found across the globe ?

Yes pyramids all across the Globe .. watched a few documentries about them on Discovery channel revealing this fact too. Leave the Egypt everybody knows it .. but in various parts of the world, from china to south america and all with somewhat similar structures. Why?

There are some who believe that visitors from another planet or world visied this planet and taught the same thing to different people. Another theory is that the different civilizations broke apart and started new ones in a different part of the world. You might want to read the book Worlds in Collision and Gold of the Gods, both deal with such topics.
