Last time you donated money to a poor...

last time when i had been to the nearby temple, I donated some money to the poor beggars sitting in front of the temple. many people do donate some money to these poor people and I think that amount would be enough to get them some food. they sit all day long at these places and beg for money everyday from morning to evening. begging has become a social problem, and it would not be solved by these small pennies that we give these people. Hope some better way comes up for these poor persons...

hi uditpanda, my dear friend, hwen ever we go out , we see many people on red light signals , many on the side of roads sitting, many sitting beside the temples , so i make a point to give something or the other to them. i often donate my old clothes, give food, some times fruits, some time i give juices also, but i generally dont give money. i prefer to give things of their need but not the money. they get money from many other people so its not that they cant buy their own choice things to eat or wear or whatever they wanna do. but i give everything except money. very rarely i remember that i have given money to , until and unless i feel they are in real need of money for some reason.

I have a sweet shop and many beggars comes to my shop.I will not help them by giving money but i give them some food items or some sweets.

to be perfectly honest I dont agree with giving money to poor people, here in uk there are ways for homeless etc etc to earn money without begging. Here in my city I will buy the big issue a portion of that goes to the seller who is usually homeless. I really dont agree with just giving money away, everybody has to work and earn theres a million and one ways for homeless or poor people to earn more money and help them selves to change their circumstances. I dont want to be nasty, but I was poor when I was younger and lived in a bed sit with my family. I have worked hard and I dont get hand outs so from my own experience I dont give to the poor unless they are working for it.

Usually when we are out driving around we will see people standing here and there with signs or organizations with their buckets and stuff trying to collect money and sometimes if I have it available I will give some here and there. Depends on how much I have on me really, sometimes its only like a dollar and other times its a bit more. I let the kids give some change if there is some in the car as well. They enjoy doing it. I donate clothes and toys and household stuff every once in a while too. I dontated a TON of baby formula back around Thanksgiving time to a local charity. Well, not a ton but about 15 cans....

i month ago , i know many of the poor are richer than me , but whenever a child comes infront of me, i am unable to stop giving them money.
