How much does your best article earn you a month?

On revenue sharing freelance writing sites we are paid fore page views. I tend to check out how much my article's are making me on a monthly basis.
My best article has earned me over a dollar already this month, this may not seem like a lot but imagine having a few hundred articles earning you over $1 a month, then the money would be good.
My best article is on jobs for writers. How much do you earn a month from your top articles? Does this amount stay stable every month or does it change?

Well done on your best article. I have not yet earned more than $1 this month from any single article, but my daily earnings for yesterday were $1.16.
My top earning article has now made more than $10. It is at the top every month, and so far this month it has made 89 cents.
Most of my more recent articles have moved into the top ten on my article earnings page. Some of these could get $1 before the end of the month.
Yes it would be nice to have hundreds of articles all making at least a dollar each month. I did not know about SEO when I wrote my earlies articles, and I did not know what topics were better for earning. My new articles all seem to perform better than any of my earlier ones.
The good thing is that they carry on earning and if I keep adding one a day, this time next year I will have over 500!

Wouldn't it just be basic common sense to sell your articles to upfront paying markets? A site paying $25 per article up front could mean you get a payment right now - where here you're saying that at $1 per month, that would take 25 months - that's 2 YEARS to make the same money from the same article.
That makes no financial sense whatsoever. That's not even remotely anything like a real residual income. I've read some of your stuff on Helium and you're seriously wasting your time and talent by submitting as much as you do.
Look for a few upfront paying markets. You don't have to worry about finding page views, you don't have to be a professional writer. Anyone with a bit of talent can submit to online markets like these.
(p.s. think... 200 articles x $25 each = $5,000)

I also sell articles, for which I have been paid more than $25 each, but this discussion is on the topic of monthly earnings from page views.

I understand what the topic is about - my point was that I believe you have far more talent than you give yourself credit for. You could comfortably turn your love of writing into a very comfortable full time income if only you'd take your considerable talents and put them where they'll do you the most good :)

Earnings peaked in January when I had a couple of articles on finance that made over a dollar. Since then though they have only been making 30-40c per month.

Hmmm... The highest amount I was ever paid for ONE article was $1,200. I wrote a feature article about advanced profitable investing techniques during a recession and submitted it to an Investment Magazine. They paid a once-only fee of $1,200.
I don't think I need to worry about how much revenue it earns me each month after getting an upfront payment like that for one article which paid for my entire mortgage payment and my electric bill for the month.

Wow! Thanks for sharing and for the inspiration. The math on this makes good incentive to keep going with the revenue sharing sites. I am working on something I plan to post to AC and I am trying to decide on whether to ask for upfront payment or just post it and get the page views. I wonder how long it would take me to get 100 articles on both helium and AC.
