HI, Do you believe in hell? Ever since I was a child, I've had a difficult time believing that our all loving father would creat hell. A family member once told me that If I believe in the bible, I must believe there is a hell. What do you think?

well there is a christian hell but necessarily a jewish one, in the same bible, and it all depends on if you take everythign literally or not, like the world is only 6000 years old, - not!

I'm an Athiest though IMO I don't think here is a right or a wrong answer to such questions. It depends on how strongly your belive in your religion and how strongly you follow it. If you listen to what people say about various religions on similar subjects most all have varying views. SO it there a right answer? No one really will know truly til they get there.

hmmm hell as a punishment. Sure. What exactly it is I don't know. But sure I think there is some kind of hell. A place for correcting someone. Making someone better. I don't believe it is as some evil people describe it though. Which parent loves their child more? The one that punishes their child to correct them, or the one that does not punish their child, and lets them do what they want?

The Angel Lucifer thought he was as good as God and thought that he did not have to follow God's rules and commands anymore, therefore this caused a battle and Lucifer and a third of the Angels who fought on the side of Lucifer were cast out of Heaven and onto Earth. So now the Devil walks among us on earth tempting us with evil. The Bible states that at the end of time Lucifer and all his followers will then be cast into the Abyss, the Lake of Fire of Burning Sulfur to suffer for eternity, and then when we as people stand before God on our final judgement day those of us that do not have our name written in the book of life will also be cast into the Lake of Fire. Just like our earthly Mother and Father that if we disobeyed them we knew there would be consequences to what we did, punishment. Well our Father in Heaven has given us Free Will and many years to learn right from wrong and for us to choose the path we wish to follow, so if we choose the path of Evil then there will be consequences if we do not seek repentence then on our final day of judgement if our name is not in that book of life we will be cast into the Lake of Fire. There will be no room for evil Heaven. God does not make this decision for us, as to if we go to Heaven or our so called Hell (The Lake of Fire)we make that choice by our actions, and what we do. We decided, God has given us everything we need to make the right choics and as to where we want to spend eternity. Therefore if we all decided to live as christians, to do good and not Evil then there would be no Hell for us, there would only be a Hell just for Lucifer and his followers. In a sense you could say we created this so called place we call Hell for ourselves because we choose to do Evil things and not seek forgiveness for them, God created the Lake of Fire for Lucifer and his followers, and therefore if we do not follow God then we are considered to be following Lucifer and therefore we (the evil ones) will follow him (Lucifer)into the Lake of Fire that we created for ourself by choice.
