Have you ever had stagefright?

OMG!!! I am a good singer, but I have the worst case of stagefright. I have tried to go up in front of a crowd to sing and all they hear is a whisper because my voice goes away. I would love to gain the confidence to be able to share my gift, but I can't even sing to my camera if the lens is on my face. Heck, I have trouble singing to my cats...LOL So, have you ever had stagefright (Or still do) and if you've gotten over it, what advice do you give to those of us who are still scared and selfconscious? (By the way, "get up there and just do it" doesn't cut it for most of us because alot of us actually have done this and it didnt work.)
