Hey guys check this out. I gotta puppy she is about 6 months old and she is a sheppherd mix. Very active, beautiful dog. Here is my problem she is so stubborn tho. She barks at every thing and I mean everything from, other dogs, people, loud cars, kids even kids on skateboards and scooters its ridiculous and when my fiance' and I tell her to hush she just keeps on going and she barks and barks makes me crazy. Any idea's on how to get her to stop with out being mean.??? We also have a doberman and hybrid wolf mix his name is Beau and is a good good dog. He is well behaved and listens when we correct him...too bad his wifey wont lol Please help us out

Well they do make barking collars. You just put it on and when the dog starts barking it sprays an annoying citrus spray up towards the dogs nose. It is unpleasant for the dog but completely humane. I believe they also make ones that ate remote controlled so you control when it sprays. They have been around for as long as I remember so they must be pretty useful. I have never had a dog with a barking problem so I have never used one, but they are usually not too pricey, I would definitely try this before resorting to obedience school price-wise. Hopefully something like this will work for your dog. If not you may just have to resort to obedience school. I wish you luck though!

seems kinda mean to me so spray citrus at my dog , I will like to use other things that dont seem so mean. I am gonna work with some of th other ideas I have found first and see how she adjust to them first before the school or thinking abut spraying her in the nose with citru but thanks

Sounds like perhaps you should consider obedience school. We have a chihuahua mix, and she started barking when we first moved to the apartment from the country. We did some classes at a nearby pet store. It wasn't badly priced and it was well worth losing the headache of her yapping at everything that moved. I know the feeling you're going through. You should also try distracting her with other things when she begins to bark. Treats work well for Baby.

I may have to do the obedience school thing but I hope not- I can't afford it I was laid off from my job and I can'thardly afford to pay attention let alone school for Miss Lady. Thanks for the input we will see how it all turns out thanks again Nisey
