I think they should all be made to walk their own plank It is very strange that piracy is still alive in this day and age, it seems sometimes that the pirates are above the law. But at least one of them has is being brought to justice

Yes that is true. I am glad they are treating him as an adult, he broke the law and that is enough, he was even smiling when he was being taken away by the authorities. I think he will get what he deserves

well.. i don't think there is anything much we can do about it..the way i see it these people seem real desperate for money or supplies or whatever. and they don't seem to care much for their life.. what's your life worth if you can't live it.. anyways,.. there hasn't been any case of hostages being tortured or murdered. if that happens , the govt may be forced to show some retaliation..

the companies aren't taking any risks because they don't lose anything since they have everything covered under the insurance.and about losing some personnel on board , they will have plenty of men waiting to take another man's place... so the companies take the easy way out. they choose to ignore the problem..

I would think that having coast guards and maybe Navy keeping an eye out for the boats so they can't be pirated away could help a small bit but it would still continue to be ongoing since it seems that boat nabbing and making hostages is how they make their money for their livelihood.

Oh hang them from the yardam. These pirates seem to think it is their right to rob and kill and kidnap, and those who stop them are doing this great moral wrong. In other words, they think that they are right and the authorities are defying God or Allah by stopping them. So the only way is to make an example, and make it so gruesome that they would not think of retaliating. We should take a lesson at what they did in the 17th century, they hung them so that they could be seen.

Well I think they should put more effort on these pirates. These pirates are becoming a problem and we need to stop them now before they grow anymore. I am kind of scared to go on a cruise because of the pirates I wounder if ships have enough security wich they should have some to protect the boat.

Well I think that there should be a multinational army who sole responsible is to traverse these waters with a sole view to capture these pirate vessels. The local authorities for the respective regions should also have a national coast gaurd specially trained to deal wiith thes esituation and liasing with the multinational marine army

that would be the way to go "but" most of the respected regions get a cut of the money from pirating the ship's, it's i think just that part of the world that hasn't progressed in ages and you have a numerous corrupt officials that run things plus cartels most likely have alot to do with it. everybody has their hand out looking for the big easy.
