What would you do when you cannot sleep?

Recently I find myself connot enjoy fast sleep or sometimes wake up in the middle of night, so I've been trying various methods to get a regular sleep again, but it seems none of them brought a good effect to me. So I want to hear about you what measures you'll take to resolve such a problem?

If I find it hard to sleep I will generally come on to my lot and do some typing for about an hour and then I will try again and this seems to do the trick! It probably won't work for everyone but you have to try and find out what works for you, it might be that you can pick up a book or something and read, I'm sure this will make your eyes tired and you will want to get some sleep. Whenever I can't sleep I watch repeat and boring tv shows. They eventually put me to sleep. I guess cause I force myself to watch them while my brain is not interested on watching them at all...then my eyes will eventually close. Try it, and avoid caffeine after 5pm. Take care.

I probally will be on my laptop when I cant sleep since I figure its better to do something then to try to sleep since thats not good to get to sleep. But I would just talk to friends search stuff or just post on this forum when I cant sleep wich usally helps.

Are you sleeping throughout the day and how long are you sleeping in late? Sometimes when you get to much sleep during the day it effects the way you sleep at night. You have to get your body on a schedule and then your body will be able to sleep fine through the night.
I have had trouble sleeping at night before too and I found the warm milk seems to help. Make sure too that your not having anything that is caffeinated late at night, I would say after 9 pm because it will effect the way you sleep at night. Also maybe try hot tea..I have never but I have heard a few people say it helps them. Best of luck...

Umm.. that means to sleep regularly, I've tried before and many people suggest me todo that but sometimes when I have a suddent though before I sleep I always think about it continuously and it seem the more I think the more conscious I become. Eating soming warm, as you advise, may be a useful way, thanks for your opinion.
