My mom bought a big bag of mushrooms from the supermarket last week because they were on sale. So far, I've made pizza, omelet, and spaghetti with them and I still have quite a lot left. And now I'm out of ideas. Does anyone here have recipe ideas for mushrooms?

I love mushrooms and have made them many ways, when BBQing steaks I used to leave them whole but remove the stems Put a piece of alum. foil in a a bowl and press ti down into the bowl put in the mushroom 1 or 2 cups and I'd melt butter with chopped up garlic on the stove 1 stick 3 cloves fresh minced and mix together on stove top pour over the mushrooms in the foil and seal the tin foil over the top of the bowl and it makes kinda a ball and I set this on the coals and turn every 3 or 4 minutes til cooked, it's great with steaks! Watch it some of the butter might leak out and cause a flair up but just keep going! LOL! Some thing else that's good is stuffed caps! I cook up mabe 3 or 4 strips of bacon and crash it up mix in some philly cream cheese mabe 5 or 6 tablespoons and a little garlic minced or powder, I like garlic, and some chives minced fresh is best or green onion tops. mix all together, spoon a teaspoon on top of the caps and top with a piece of cheddar cheese, line a cookie sheet pan with tin foil put in all the shrooms and broil for 4 or 5 minutes!!! Awesome!! Good luck! tdemex!

hi saffrondreams, my dear friend, i love mushrooms and i make a point to have them atleast once in a week. i can have them just stir fried in butter and aprinkle some salt and cheese on it. sometimes i love to have tem with onions and garlic also fried with mushrooms. first i fry onins and garlic and then i add mushrooms and saute it and transfer it to other dish or plate. i love it.
one more very easy recipe is bacon and cream cheese stuffed mushrooms. there i need eight oz cream cheese softened,
4 to 6 strips of bacon, fried and crumbled, reserve the fat
1 small onion finely choped
20-25, big mushrooms stems removed
and about 8 mushroom stems finely chopped.
now saute onin and mushroom stems in bacon fat until tender. drain off excess fat. mix crumbled bacon, onion and stems with softened cream cheese until the mixture is workable. stuff each mushroom and bake at 350 degrees F for about 10 -15 minutes. its done.

You can do stuffed mushrooms. My friends LOVE it when I make them. I use spicy sausage mixed with cream cheese, feta cheese, green onion and asiago cheese. I just mix up those ingredients in a food processor and then I stuff the mushrooms and bake them at 350 F until the cheese is bubbling. Soooo tasty!

You should use them up before the undersides become too black and slimy. I love mushrooms and onions on toast. Just melt some butter, put in sone finely minced onions, not too much just to give it a nice taste, add sliced mushrooms and simmer until onions are soft. Butter some toast and top with with the mushrooms, salt and pepper.Great for lunch. You can also add a dollop of nonfat sour cream.
Other suggestions: Homemade cream of mushroom soup
Mushroom pie. There are lots of recipes for both on the internet.

If you have white mushrooms, than you can prepare baked mushrooms. Take your bunch of mushrooms (50 g?), add an onion, half a bunch of onions, some parsley, half a sausage (German *bratwurst*), white peppar, some tomatoes, whipped cream and some cheese, i.e. Gouda.
Clean the mushrooms, chop them, add chopped onions and parsley. Take a pan and do some oil in it, heat them. Do the mushrooms and the onion into the pan, fry them, later add the sausage and some parsley plus salt and pepper. Later from the pan. Put the tomatoes and the cream into the pan and let them fry shortly.
Take a baking dish, put in the white mushrooms an fill them with ground pork. Add the tomatoe sauce. Put the mushrooms into the baking oven at 200 degree celsius for 20 minutes.
Bon Apetit!

I would go with suffed mushrooms. For mine I use Italian bread crumbs, basil, tomoates and mozzarella cheese. I sprinkle them with olive oil and pop them in the oven for 10-12 mins on 350

You can make ANYTHING with mushrooms! Mmm spinach and mushroom salad with hot bacon dressing is heaven on earth! Stuffed mushrooms with chedder and bacon, or seafood or grill them up for mushroom and onion sandwiches/hamburgers... meatloaf with mushrooms (and then line the top with bacon) is to die for - make cream of mushroom chicken with extra mushrooms.
Your possibilities are pretty much endless! lol

I make different kinds of appetizers with them and some of them you can keep for a while.
The easiest, of course, is the stuffed mushroom. I stuff them with a little bit of blue cheese and melt it in the oven. But you have to eat that in the moment.
The other appetizer is: heat olive oil and add 2 cloves of garlic. Take them out as soon as they fry and pour the clean mushrooms. You can do that a little at a time so as to use less olive oil. But it´s deep frying so you have to use a snmall pot. You can take away the cooked mushrooms, heat the olive oil and put some more. The mushrooms shrink and give out a lot of water. Put them in a jar with the oil and the oil will harden. Then make a hole and take out the mushroom water. Leave the mushrooms in oil at room temperature so the oil will fill spaces. Heeat a bit when you want to serve (a microwave will do). I make a big jar an use it little by little with company. I serve it with oven dried bread slices.
By thew way, you can use the mushroom juice to flavour any dish.

are these button mushrooms? if they are, you can have them for a healthy tv snck by sauteeing them in olive oil, garlic, and a little salt and pepper (butter would be nice but higher in cholesterol) mushrooms are also good with other veggies steamed. you can also try mushroom burgers.

You will also need some cream of mushroom soup for this:
Take some chickeon or turkey (or any other meat if you want to try it out)
Heat a little oil in a pan and add some onions and whatever spices you like ( I normally use a season all or black pepper, garlic, ginger etc).
Then add the chicken ( dice or pieces are best.
Cook till the chicken is cook through
then add the cream of mushroom soup cook for a while
then add the mushroom (chop them into piece before hand)
simmer till the mushroom are cooked and blend with the rest of the ingredients.
You end up with a creamy chicken mushroom sauce
Serve with rice or spaghetti
If you try it let me know what you think?
