i joined a gym today

tired of my treadmill at home and wanted something different. i went to a step up class today, what a killer. very fun arobics though. what i can't wait for is to do the kickboxing class. that's what i've been dying to try.

I was a gym member and I enjoyed being there. It's also a fin way of socializing while keeping fit. I have never been to a class though. Unfortunately the time I used to devote to the gym was 'stolen' in between other things I had to do, so I simply used to go, do my workout, shower and leave. I used to talk to a few people but never attended any of the classes. Enjoy and have fun!

Ya the time I have to go is before work but they don’t offer classes on those day. But there are two classes one on each of my 2 days off so I will be taking the classes on those days and just going to work out another day or 2 during the week at the gym

This is awesome! I've been looking for a gym to join but they're all too expensive. I ended up just getting a couple DVDs to work out along with. They're good, when I do them, but it's hard to get motivated when I'm just sitting in the living room by myself. It's easier to work up the energy when you're actually in a gym environment, surrounded by other people who are working out. Good for you!

That was my problem too. It’s hard to be motivated at home. I loved how during the class today when I got tired she wouldn’t let me give up and she just encouraged me to keep going. I need that type of support to keep working out. I’ve been trying to get a friend to work out with me to make it more fun but can’t find anyone. Maybe you should set aside a day or two a week for a friend to come over to do the tapes with you. Then that will keep you more motivated if you have an actual time with someone set aside.
