Yes people today who are famous are famous for one thing.. No talent, no ambition, no nothing! Take for example Paris Hilton... exactly why is she famous? What has she ever done to better this world? apart from being a spoilt little rich brat who thinks she can live a "simple life" who is she?? And then there is Perez Hilton (for some reason anyone with the name hilton is a waste of time and space!) he rights a blog and suddenly he's famous.. there a lot more people who right meaningful and helpful blogs and yet they don't get any credit.. And then there's the late jade goody (may her soul rest in peace) what did she ever do that made her famous?? and dont even get me started on all these so called actors and actresses today.. seriously the majority of them are absolutely talentless! Whatever happened to good old days when people really had talent? The michael jackson, james brown, Marlon brando, Julie Andrews etc? can anybody tell me where have all the good talents gone?

That is true, but the media response is always that they give the public what they want.

I have seen the media responding to this sort of question many times, and that is always their answer - if it doesn't sell people wouldn't buy, watch or listen to it. It always depresses me when I hear that because it makes me realise what the human race is like. You only have to think about how popular reality TV is....

Has the media actually asked what we public want?? I can guarantee you that if they did then they wouldnt be so much garbage on TV

Hi jellymonty! I totally agree with you, it's so hard to find somehting good on t.v. or at the movies nowadays. Me and my co-workers were just talking about this yesterday and they all feel the same way too. Even cartoons are not the same anymore. I think a part of it is that this generation is so messed up, things just keep getting worse and worse. Well just so you know I'm only 23 and although I may seem too young to remember the good old days I realy do miss them. Happy MyLotting!

I can agree to the extent that it dosen't take much talent to make
it these days however I disagree that they have no ambition,
ambition is the only thing many of these people have going for
themselves and that coupled with a great PR person can make anyone famous.
And leave Paris Hilton alone please I know shes a mindless twitt but
I like her...why because she isn't affraid to be who she is. She knows
she is a no talent celeb who is running on name reconition and she
admits it I think that cool.

I'm kind of immune to talentless people, so I don't know who a lot of these people are most of the time - I suppose its because they haven't done anything that has made any impression on me. Maybe the reason we don't hear so much about people with genuine talent is that they aren't attention seekers, and are busy getting on with something useful instead of posing all the time.
