I prefer a laptop compared to the desktop. Size is small and can be used while doing mobility. Two months ago I purchased a laptop with a fairly cheap price. Actual type of the computer that I bought a notebook. I don't know what the difference between laptop and notebook apart from size. In my opinion, in general, laptop and notebook have the same in ability and functions. So the price difference is not too great, and better performance, I prefer a laptop or notebook when compared with the desktop.

I bought my first laptop recently. I often wondered what the difference between a laptop and notebook was, as well. I asked the store associate when I bought it and he said there is no difference. It's just a different name. I also checked Newegg.com and it says basically the same thing. The name notebook may be a matter of manufacturer's preference. Anyway, you seem to see the term "notebook" used more often than "laptop" now.

I recently bought my first laptop because I was having problems with my desktop, which I built myself. I bought the laptop, one, because I had always wanted one just to see what they were like and two, because I wanted to be able to continue to get on the internet while I figured out what was wrong with my desktop. I like my laptop a lot but I think I'm still partial to desktops because I'm just more use to them. I have to disagree that desktops are always cheaper than laptops. Laptops have definitely come down in price because they have grown in popularity over the desktop, but I have seen on a number of occasions where desktops of similar design(similar hardware and software) were more expensive than the laptop. Of course, while comparing a custom built PC to a store bought laptop isn't the same as comparing a store bought PC to a store bought laptop, the desktop I built a couple of years ago cost about a thousand dollars more than the laptop I just bought. But, on most occasions, desktops of comparable design to laptops are gonna be cheaper.

It depends on your job, budget, needs and purpose. I think there's some jobs that laptop can't handle. I have both of desktop and laptop. For gaming or multimedia editing, i prefer to use my desktop. I usually use my laptop only for my mobile purposes such as outdoor presentation. Sometimes i use my desktop for the internet. But i often use my laptop for connecting to the internet. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

Desktop is much easy to upgrade and repair. Also, its cheaper than laptop. But, you cant bring your desktop when you frequently travel. For me, I would choose laptop but it should be a good quality laptop.

Well it depends on what you prefer and what you do in life so if your like me and your always on the go then a laptop suits me but if you work at home then its a desktop for you.

It depends on the needs of every user. For me, I prefer desktop over laptop as I need a much faster computer for photo editing and graphic design. As of the moment, I'm still using a desktop computer and also needs a laptop because I am not on the house most of the time today.

I own both. I use my desktop whenever I'm not going to be on the computer very long. However, my laptop I use for writing and it travels with me. I like having both of them and wouldn't sell/trade either of them.

If you ask my personal opinion then laptop is always better than desktops.Laptops are portable, can do all the tasks performed by desktop, have alternate power source(battery) so power cuts not a problem, light weight,a good laptop has inbuilt features like wi fi,bluetooth, integrated webcam. As far as memory is concerned you can buy a portable hard disk drive of 120GB,180GB etc as per your need.

Hi ruilong! let me share you my thought. Based on the price laptop will cost you more. Let say that the laptop cost you $3000. Well i think to get the same performance for desktop you just need half of the price. It means to get the higher performance laptop will cut more your money rather than desktop.

If you can invest more laptop is fine for office and business applications. If you have childerens for playing games and for other rugged operations desktop is better. If you are a business man or software engineer and wanted to use pc as individual better to go for laptop only.
