favorite grand dog got killed yesterday

So sorry to hear that ANTIQUELADY. It is always hard when we lose a beloved pet. I have lost some over the years and I know how it can feel. I love all my pets and they are part of the family and it can be a shock when they pass away. It will get better with time

I have just read this, and most of the responses, just to add my condolences for your families sad loss. it is always a shock when you lose a beloved pet, but when they get run over... well its so sad and so unnecessary. one of my cats got run over last year on december 1st, my partners birthday. i wrote about it on mylot and got lots of heartwarming and sympathetic responses. it won't bring my darling cat back but it does show people care. i have no idea who run my cat over, it was broad daylight and we live in a cul de sac, but i just hope they and the person who run your dear little dog over, realise how devastating it is to lose a pet so unnecessarily. big hugs from me to you all x

I'm sorry to hear that. Some people just think of a pet as a pet. Kind of an inanimate object you keep around the house, but my pets are my family. Sorry for your loss. Hope your family is coping and your boy is okay.

This is really a sad incident. I am always careful with my dog and will always make sure that she doesn't step out of my door. Since my house is just next to the highway I need to sometimes tie my dog when am not around. My other dog who is always stationed outside the house is road smart. He will look left and right and cross the road only when it is clear. Getting killed in a freak accident is the most feared incident for our pet dogs.

I'm so sorry to hear that, antiquelady. My brother in law dog was run over a few weeks ago and I'm still sad about it. He was a country dog too and was usually very good crossing the road but the poor guy was going blind and it was snowing and blowing so he must have got confused. At least he didn't suffer but I miss him, he was on of my favorite in laws!

That's terrible! I hate that happened. It's so sad when an animal gets hit. I wish people were not in such a hurry.

I had the same experience four years ago.It run and never came back.It's my best friend.

Oh my. I am so sorry for your loss! I recently lost a dog also. Although it was because he was so old and I knew it was coming. Moving is always hard on pets. He must have just gotten a bit lost or confused about the new place. I am sure he flt no pain though and rght now he is in a better place! I know how hard this must be but try to stay positive! Again I am so sorry for your loss; I will say a special prayer for you!

Oh noooo, ANTIQUELADY, I'm so sorry to hear that. My parents referred to my dogs as their grand dogs too. And my dear mom sat and listened to my broken heart when one was given only days to live, crying right along with me. I hope the good cry helped a little. So sad, I'm sorry.

Hello ANTIQUELADY! That's sad to hear that. I know how it feels to have your pet got killed for some reason. I also cried when our cat got hit by a car without me knowing it until my dad told me that our cat got killed. I cried and miss those times when our cat came to me and rub her body on my feet.
