I made a ridiculous amount of money one time and went through it all with nothing to show for it. So the next time I was paid, I had some put into a savings account and some into retirement so I wouldn't be able to do that again. It served me well. I looked at many options for putting my money away from me so that I would have it later on when I needed it and thank goodness I did.

I think most times we spend money without thinking we need it in the future. It happened to me also. When I had spend lots of money, I spend it without thinking I might need in the future. The one thing I have noticed in life is that when you have money you may have lots of friends and if you spend it on them. When you have less money you will have less number of friends, but the less number of friends who stays with you are the best friends one can ever have in life.

I think if we saved money when we can most probably we might have money when we needed. I have seen some of my friends spending all the salary unwisely and things they really not needed when they get salary and borrowing at the end of the month and this procedure continues throughout the month.

I believe in the maxim-Make hay when the sun shines.I always like to work hard earn as much as possibe and save it up.I am one who would think twice before spending .Only the most neccessary things I will purchase.I dont simply buy and waste .I would invest in gold because I believe that gold is a good investment which will fetch good returns .

Yes, this happened to me several times. As much as I want to stay on budget, there are just times that I overspend.

Budgeting is one of the best way to save money. I think when we make monthly budgets we are able to save money. There are lots of things we most probably does not need in our life. I think when we budget we will know what are the things we need immediately and what are the things we do not need immediately.

Actually, I always save my earnings even before, I don't like spending it all, I also make it a point to stick on my budget, because earning money is so hard nowadays because of recession, I am very thankful that I have a stable job, so I don't want to waste it for useless things.

I'm actually smart with my money. I've never had money to just spend on random things. So to even think of buying something that isn't absolutely necessary makes me feel guilty. Although my dad never saves. He's always spending what he doesn't really have. I think that if you have a hundred you'll spend it. But if you have a hundred one dollar bills, you're not as likely to. thats my personal method for saving money. Break the big bills until you've only small ones left. It works to keep a large bill from "Burnning a whole in your pocket"

I am a good saver. I do not spend unwisely. It is very simple. As soon as you get the money, go to the bank, put so much in it, and do not spend it or when you go out, only take so much. I think ten percent is a good way to start. That way you will not miss that ten percent.

Hi there!
It happens to me all the time. I remember having "I will save money and spend it wisely" as my annual new year's resolution and then I just gave up on having new year's resolution after a few years.
I tend to buy things even when I don't need them most especially when it's on sale. I always count the money that I will saving without knowing when I should that I could have saved more if I didn't buy something that I don't need.

I have learned to save money in almost every possible way that I can. The only bad thing is, with bills, bills, and more bills...even though I make pretty decent money, I still end up coming up with little to nothing left over at the end of the month. One of the things that hits me hard is child support, because they definitely do not look at both sides of the story when it comes to that....they just basically opened up my wallet and commenced the painful process of extracting every last cent that I had left over from paying bills.
But yeah, being single, having no one to help, and having a child that doesn't live with you that you have to support, definitely doesn't make it easy to spend unwisely...
