First Indian to score IPL hundred? .....your pick

AB DeVilliers has just scored the 7th IPL hundred by an overseas player (Considering India as home). No Indian has come to the party so far. I think Sehwag scored an unbeaten 94 and ganguly scored a 90 last year. Those were the only 2 player to come that close. So who do you think will be the first Indian to score an IPL hundred? Will it be this season??..
I think it will be Sehwag or Gambhir as they are two very good T20 players opening the batting. Drawing present for I would not be surpried if Dravid scored opening the batting and tendulkar's got a chance as well.

I am agree with you. Sehwag and Gambhir certainly have greater chances.
Dravid and Sachin are class players.On South African pitches,both are proving to fatal for bowlers.So,certainly they have better chances this season.
Yuvi can also hit a hundred if he succeeded to settle well.Just remember his performance against England during T-20 W/c.

Thanks for your response! If Yuvraj playes the way he did against england, he can even come in the 12th or 13th over and score a ton. Your right, the pitches in South Africa are different so it might take a little while for the Indians to settle. Hopefully after that we see a big score.

Hi Mac,
If anyone is going to make Century this year, then it would be only Sehwag because the pitches are different in SA and people are finding it hard to make runs there. The best score this IPL by an Indian is by Rahul Dravid and it is 66(I think).
Only sehwag can make the century. Although Gambhir also reached two 80+ scores last year.

Thanks for coming. And why do you rule out Gambhir? No doubt the the pitches are different in South Africa, but dont you think he played well in the T20 world cup two years ago. Sehwag as usual is always capable of doning almost anything, so lets hope he can get going this season.

Yusuf pathan can also do the same but he does'nt have the capability of playing long innings. He seems to be happy with his 40s and 60s.
Well, Gambhir is out of the situaion because he is not a big hitter. He hold the record of hitting most number of 4s in IPL T20 first edition and to hit a century you have to hit sixes because you loose two runs on every boundary you score!

good thinking but I still dont rule him out.
I think hell be able to hit sixes once he settles and gets into his zone.
and yes Y Pathan has had many scores between 40-60, but u cant really blame him. He usually come at 4 down or so and playes some very good shots. I think if he gets more opportunities at the top of the order he will have a better chance of gettting the hundred.... And how close was Raina the other day? missed it by a whisker.

Hmm..my choice list will definately include "YUVI" and "SEHWAG"....while sehwag just needs a stay of 14-15 overs at the crease yuvi`s timing can fetch this feat for him....
sehwag is in gud form.he is at his aggressive best..patience is the key for him..he has gambhir as a partener with him which is the bigest advantage for him coz he can be a bit patient as gambhir can score with quick pace..hope is plays "DeVilliers-like" innings in this IPL only!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
yuvi can perform this feat with his timing and temporament...with gud support of a healthy bating lineup(that includes bopara,sangkara,jayawardhane,pathan)he can stay at he crease for 20 overs...key for him is to come early in inngs that can give him some time..once he is set he can be lethal!!!!!!
LETS HOPE WE CAN SEE AN INDIAN SCORING A CENTURY THIS SEASON.....
