Well I would tell you if you really want a dog prove to your parents that you can handle responsibility get a part time job or start helping clean up around the house and take responsibility. After you have done that for some time then talk to them about how you feel that you have grown up enough for the dog. But if you can't handle responsibility and prove it then you shouldn't have a dog. Because they are a lot of hard work .. But the rewards are so great. I would say the best thing to do is to get a part time job and save money up so that you can show them on top of being responsible you can also pay for your own dog. Good luck!

you really like dogs, huh? maybe you can negotiate with your parents...
like, you will be responsible for your dogs...teach them obedent tasks, clean and feed them... and eventually they will allow you to have one...

Hi there Demon King!
Well, I think that there is no problem with liking dogs because I like them too. But obsession is another matter. Maybe you should make your parents see that you will be able to take responsibilities that comes with getting a dog so that they will let you have one.

Hi:
It is real easy to be obsessed with dogs, espeically if you live with them 24 hours a day. I have my dogs for companionship, but I am not obsessed with them at all. I would be upset if anything happened to them. Since I am divorced, they have been very good companions, as my ex doesn't like dogs whatsoever and when he comes to visit, they can sense that he doesn't like them, so they stay away from him. lol
I enjoy my dogs very much, as I walk them everyday so they get their exercise, and since I watch the dog whisperer, I don't let them walk me or try to get away from me. They are dogs after all, and we have to treat them that way. I think being obsessed with dogs is so wrong, as lile I said, they are just dogs, and when we become obsessed with them, then it becomes a problem. We can let them run the household instead of us running the household and we are to be the pack leader, not them. I make mistakes with mine, but I am learing how to be a good pack leader.
