My favorite science fiction authors are Andre Norton and Anne McCaffrey. I discovered science fiction when I picked up my first Andre Norton book, Beast Master, and I own most of her books. I've been a fan for over 40 years and I was saddened when she passed away. I found Anne McCaffrey almost 30 years ago. The first of her books I read was the first in the Pern series. I put my kids to bed and read from start to finish. It took me until 5am, but I just couldn't put it down. Of course, the kids were up at 6am.

I have only one science fiction author and that is Isaac Asimov. He writes wonderfully. I like his wrting style because it is simple. I love his books, specially the robot series, though I have read only a few of them. I wish I could get hold of more to read.

I've been reading some of the novels of Arkadiy and Boris Strugatsky lately. The thing I like best in their books is that they have a exceptional understanding for people's thinking and always include in their stories a profound examination of the psychological side of the characters. And since I'm studying psychology for me that's a great way to learn something new about human mentality and amuse myself with an intriguing book at the same time.
