Personally, I hope it doesn't follow the book exactly. The Half-Blood Prince is so heavy with the flashbacks/pensieve scenes that following the book to the letter is going to make it very slow, which would be okay for adults but it will lose the kids, I think. It would still have an exciting ending (although I read from someone who saw a bootleg version that they change the ending a bit too *shrug*) but 75% of the book is just Harry and Dumbledore standing on the sidelines, passively watching the memories Dumbledore had collected. And most of the memories are just people talking. There was a lot to be learned from the story but no where near the action of the first five. I am mostly hoping there is more Bellatrix in the movie than there is in the book. She's not, by any means, one of my favorite characters but I simply adore Helena Bonham Carter. But I'm super excited to see what the director and script-writers make of it.

to say the truth i am not really fond with the harry potter movies because the movie always seem to lack of something not like what i read in the novel!the last movie of harry potter that i do watch until the end are harry potter and sorcerer stone, chamber of secret and prisoner of akzaban! but this half blood prince trailer make me really excited to go to watch it!i think they at last know how to satisfy the crazy need of harry potter fanatic fan by creating a storyline that true to the books!it's so ironic because I'm not really like the half blood prince novel very much but this trailer seem to change my mind!

I think they shouldn't take off too much of the important stuff in the story, I mean J.K took years to perfect her world so why should the movie take so much liberty. In reality the book cannot be followed to the letter because it might take more than 13 hours to finish LOL. But I wish they didnt remove really important parts even before because its harder to cement certain elements into the story especially if they were lacking before like Ron's brother who is getting married to a certian Blonde Frenchie very soon...so how will they put in that transition? And that essential part will be an integral piece of the final book as well I just hope they dont cut it too short that the very things that people fell in love with the story is just replaced with flashy graphics and supposed catchy phrases. But I'm dying to watch it Soon!!

Well I think it will be great because in my opinion the sixth book has one of the most interesting story compared to all the other Harry Potter works. I saw the trailer and I too find myself counting the days, even if my kid doesnt! I'm looking forward to it and I hope it lives up to my expectations.

I'm usually not interested in graphics or anything when going to a movie based on a novel I read. I'm more interested how well it follows the book. Usually if it's a long book it's not going to be as good because it can't. There may even be scenes that you remembered in the book that you can't wait to see it on film and that scene never comes up. Probably one of my biggest disappointments was the first version of "the shining" with Jack Nicholson. Later, when they did the two night movie on tv, it was much better. I have not read any of the Harry Potter books, though.

most movies are derived from books and one of the most famous is harry potter. for example goblet of fire. i read the book several times and so with the movie. i liked it both eventhough the movie isnt exactly with the book. they altered many things and ut outothers. but the thing is some people cant read or understand the book without watching the movie first! so the bottomline is book and movie is good it only depends on the person watching or reading it.

So far, every movie produced in regards to the Harry Potter movies have been pretty good! I see no reason why this one would be any different. The story lines are good and the productions are always way killer. I think it would be good and I thinki your kids are going to love it!
