Hello! I just bought an SLR camera. It's a Nikon D60. I have so many friends who have Nikon SLR cameras and they said that their cameras are the best. That's the reason why I bought a Nikon D60. I am still tinkering with it to see all the features and how to use it to its maximum potential. So far, I LOVE it and it's living up to its reputation.

Well, I am not sure if I can answer more of your questions about SLRs. I think I oculd as long as its not too technical.

what we look for? picture quality is, of course, top priority. there are a wide variety of models to choose from. SIGMA, PENTAX, NIKON, CANON and SONY. all of them have 10 to 14 mega pixels cameras. but first you need to know how much will you spend for a SLR camera cause some of them cost from P40,000 to as much as P100,000. if raw pixel power is your game then the Sigma SD14 is the right one for the job. it does come with an excruciatingly painful price tag of nearly a P100,000 not to mention the additional equipment it requires to actually handle 14 megapixel RAW shots like high capacity CF cards and a powerful computer. for normal user purposes however, this is just too over spec'd. the NIKON and the PENTAX strike closer to home given their respective feature sets.

Hi! Canon and Nikon are the best for SLR camera...but they have also a level for SLR, for example, entry- level which is a beginner level, mid range level, and professional level.... the rule is you have to invest on lens that the body of the camera... since the lens can make you great pictures. If this is your first time, You can purchase the 450D or 500D canon or D60 for Nikon. but if you want the point and shoot camera which has lots of good features of SLR-like you may take the prosumer cameras. My recommendation is Canon and Panasonic Lumix. Hope it helps.
