I did a cool experiment using Helium. I wrote my results and my exact earnings here: http://ravens-writing.blogspot.com/2008/10/writing-at-helium.html I also did some basic maths and wrote a separate blog post on how to make real residual income from your writing efforts without wasting your time, your efforts or your talent (like so many on Helium do). http://ravens-writing.blogspot.com/2009/04/creating-residual-income-from-freelance.html In this second post, I did some basic maths. I figured that if you write 100 articles and you get 10,000 page views, then you MIGHT earn $100 per month. woo hoo. If you only get 100 page views, then you're going to earn LESS THAN $10. Or you could be a bit wiser about where you submit your writing and earn $20 per article. 100 articles at $20 per article is $2,000 up front that you can put in the bank, pay off the mortgage, take a vacation and you don't even have to worry about page views, promoting someone elses crap-filled content site. You only have to worry about writing something else. Of course, if you're even smarter, you'll find markets that pay $100 per article. 100 articles at $100 each is $10,000. Now how many articles on Helium would you need to write to get even close to that? Leave Helium to the hobbyists who have no desire to earn a real income.

Helium is a good site if you are a productive article writer and you do not just see it as an easy way to make money. I receive a nice payout every month from Helium. I have more than 200 articles earning daily revenue share, plus I have 3 writing stars so I get $1.50 upfront payment for each new article in a paying channel. I also write to assignments in the Marketplace, and so far these have paid me between $16 and $58 each. Regular rating is required to keep up a rating score and maintain at least one star. Otherwise you won't be able to get any revenue from your articles. If you only write a few articles and you don't rate regularly you will not make money at Helium. I have already been paid out over $600 from Helium. The more articles I write, the faster my monthly earnings grow, and I enjoy my participation.

I use Helium and have found it to be a good earner. I've made getting on for $150.00. Reaching the first payout seemed to take forever but once you've got a good base of articles it gets easier. The marketplace also offers lots of opportunities to earn some extra money and this is usually higher paid work.

I have been a registered user at helium for a couple of months now. In the beginning I did an article on Malbec but I didn't realize I had to post four articles to be eligible for payments. In the mean time I started focussing on AC and other sites. I recently returned to helium and finally have surpassed the minimum number so I'll see how it goes.

I was a member of Helium for a while. I wasn't really able to earn any money off of it though. I'm not sure what I was doing wrong. lol I have heard a lot of people say they earn a good bit of money on www.helium.com though. So maybe try it out!
