weightllifting can cut depression by 50% for older people according to an treatment Australian newspaper. Besides fighting depression, weight lifting strengthens aging bones and muscles, helping older people avoid falls. it also helps control arthritis, diabetes and high blood pressure. Weight lifting should be offered as a primary treatment for depression, especially for older people. What you say ?

Sounds like an interesting concept. This is something I would consider only with something like 10 pound weights. I have a bad back and could use some strenthening in my lower back. What I found myself doing over the winter was lifing my arms to my mouth to fill it with donuts. I took the easy way out..lol

I think that is so true. Weightlifting and exercise does help. When you in that black cloud the last thing you want to do is jump up and get moving. But when you do get started you feel better...
