It depends on which stage of my writing I am in. If it is in the early, mostly unformed part, it's great to work with pen (or pencil) and paper, and play around. As my writing gains structure, I usually switch to computer, because that's neater when you want to get an overview. It's nice to be able to switch between media, though.

I do both, actually. Manual writing helps to keep my writing muscles in shape. :)

For me, it depends where I am writing. If I am at home, unless I am doing research, I use the computer. For research (from books, newspapers, or magazines), I use paper and pen, then transfer to computer when I am writing an actual article. Sometimes I'll be writing in a cafe or waiting for a friend I am meeting. I don't travel around with a computer/laptop, so I use pen and paper/notebook. But really, for the final product, I find using a computer is a lot easier to change things, organize my thoughts, improve things generally. Good luck with your writing!

I only use manual writing to make notes to fill in my diary. I write every day with my computer. I learned to type many years ago on a manual typewriter and ever since I have been using a keyboard. My handwriting has never been good. I have had to sit exams and write for 3 hours by hand but I find wordprocessing so much better, because I can correct my errors, edit, add and revise my work on the screen.
