Another mylot friend started a discussion about an accident which reminded me of a story about my cousins daughter when she was little.....well Kristie was a girl that everyone loved...everyone! She died two years ago at the age of 34 one month after giving birth to her second daughter. From a stroke! The next year on her birthday all her coworkers (that loved her so much) packed a lunch and went to her grave and had lunch together "with" Kristie! It is one of the sweetest things I have ever heard of anyone doing as a tribute to a friend. Have you ever heard of something quite like this?

Hey jill~ That is the sweetest thing that I have ever heard
anyone do for a friend! It is quite an unusual tribute most
definitely, but as unique as it is it is showing how much they
truly loved their dear friend! I don't think that there could
be a nicer tribute to anyone then to be remembered in such
a thoughful and caring way.

Don't believe I've heard of this sort of tribute. How sweet. She must have been just a wonderful woman. How sad to lose her so young. I am so sorry to hear about this situation. And her little girls will be raised without their mom is terribly sad. Having a stroke at 34 is exceptionally young but guess anything can happen. May she rest in peace.

I recently read about a woman who gave birth, and the second day after the birth she got out of the hospital bed, stood up, and collasped. A blood clot had dislodged as soon as she gotten out of bed. In cases like these that are so unexpected, I think it is even more important to find ways to honor the person. I mean what the co-workers of your cousins daughter did is a tribute that I'm sure will be something special to the little one she left behind. I have no stories like that to share, but I hope it gives some of us ideas on how to cope and honor the people who have gone on before us.

Ths is a beautiful tribute to Kristie. Every year, on my husband's anniversary we have a Mass for him. After Mass - assuming that I am not alone on the Island - then the children and I go out to lunch and talk about him. For the first few years it was dreadful, but since then we remember so mnay of the funny things that we all experienced and what a wonderful man he was that we give thanks to
God for having himn in our lives. May she never be forgotten.
