Home made ice cream

Does anyone make their own ice cream? I use to and haven't for a long time, but I just got a wonderful recipe from a friend and it is delicious and so easy!
375ml of tinned mango pulp (I just pulp my own fresh mangos)
300ml of greek yoghurt
1 mashed banana
some double cream (this is optional - I leave it out as I am on a diet)
mix together and pour into an ice cream maker and leave it to freeze while you prepare and eat your first course! You can still make it if you don't have an ice cream maker, it will just take longer as you have to put it in the freezer for 1/2 hour, take it out & mix it until smooth, repeat these again & then freezer for an hour or 2.

Hi toosh21!!! I don't have any recipes for ice cream sorry, but your discussion brought back memories of my childhood, and the old crank ice cream maker i used to turn for this delicious treat. We used to add fruit that was grown to the ice cream we were making, such as peaches, watermelon, pears. We had so much fun and hopefully soon i will be able to find me an old crank ice cream maker to have. Thanks for sharing your recipe, it sounds delicious.

Hello toosh21, Sounds magnificent! I haven't ever made ice cream but I sure would like to. This is going to be one of my near future goals. Homemade ice cream, sounds soooo yummy! Thanks

That's cool to make the ice-cream at home:) I remember when I was a child, my mom made it at home. Although it didn't taste as well as the ice-creams outside, but at least it's fun to make it by yourself. I have to say that in the past the machine was so simple. If today I will make ice-cream again at home, be sure the machine has improved a lot and I can make super ice-cream:)

That sounds delicious! I make ice cream on occasion as well, and like to experiment with flavors. I really like to add fresh fruits, similar to the recipe that you mention. I also LOVE peppermint stick ice cream! I use really tiny bits of peppermint sticks so they can be eaten without getting stuck in your teeth, and it makes the perfect minty after dinner treat :)
