My best friend of almost 30 years lives 1,000 miles away in my former home town and she and her husband come down here to Florida once a year to visit us. I always look forward to seeing her! Although we talk on the phone once or twice every week, it's not the same as being together and having some face time. So far health problems have delayed her yearly visit but I'm hoping that she will be able to come down here soon.

oh getting together after a long time is a wonderful thing, some people forget how short life is and how important it is to keep in touch with friends...I hope you have a wonderful time reliving lots of memories and laughing at maybe the silly things you did...have a wonderful time and treasure your friendship always.

It is always a great pleasure when an old friend visits after being away for a long time. I've had a friend for about 12 years and he lives on the opposite side of the country. I haven't seen him for about 2 years but we always go to the bar and have a guys night out when he visits. I also visit the place where I grew up during my teenage years from time to time and that is always a good time as well.

I think it's great to reunite with old friends.
Back when I lived in Germany one of my very good friends from highschool came to visit me. She stayed for two weeks.
And when I came here to Wichita, I befriended a German girl. She moved back home for awhile, and I missed her. Thankfully she moved back and married a very nice American man. I don't see her often though because she works all the time.
Anyway, that is wonderful that you get to see your old friend again.

i did my university degree in australia however, singapore is where i am from. durin' my 3 odd years there in aussie, i started and still do call it my second home. i had no family there...ok wait, i did but they were distant rellies whom i only visited when once in a blue moon. so my family were my friends from uni. we hung out in school, at home, in the clubs...24/7 almost. hehe
now that i have moved back to singapore for bout 3 years now...i miss my friends from uni days heaps. like heaps and heaps. every now and then, i will have some friends passin' through singapore on their way to other parts of the world. and each time they do that, i get so excited! why the hell not? they were my family and friends...course i'm excited!
sometimes i would even take the day off work if they are passin' through here just for a day, on transit. i'd pick them up and run up to them as soon as they pass through the immigration doors at the airport. gettin' hugs from them always brings back old memories. we would always, without fail, talk bout old days. no matter how many times we have re-lived them over the phone or the internet, those memories still hold dear.
it's a great feelin' to have when a friend from far away takes time to meet you. i feel honoured that they still remember me and wanna see me still. :)
damn...now i miss my aussie mates, again!
