I graduated from university nearly one year ago and right now I'm working as an electric engineer. But I'm weak at my specialty and often attracted by some other things and I can't concentrate on my work. So my effiency is very low and I'm disappointed at myself to some extent.
Could someone help me?

you definitely need some motivation. remind yourself that you chose to be an electrical engineer and that now you have to work in this field no matter what. be social in the office and if you have problems with your work, then try to take some courses to clarify yourself. mostly engineering jobs require you to develop a little rhythm for what you do, and you have to apply the same routine most of the time.
but if you want, you should look for a different field as there are vast possibilities for an electrical engineer. you can do some extra courses for the telecommunication sector, where you would have to study about signals, signal processing, antenna theory etc. and take a job in the telecommunication sector. and the jobs in that sector are fun as well, at least for me...
what kind of jobs are you attracted to? i am assuming that you have a bachelors degree, so if you plan to do masters, pick a major accordingly, one that suits your inclination.

Hehe, looks like you're specialized in telecommunication. I have a bachelor degree indeed, but actually I didn't learn well in the university. That also contributes to my low efficiency at work and I think I should learn more. Your words have enlighted me for more possibilities. Thank u so much!

lol. no i have not specialized in telecommunication. i am still a bachelors student and i have a year of education before i graduate. but i have seen the telecommunication field and networking jobs are quite interesting. i have a cousin who has already graduated in the same field and he has told me that jobs are alot different in telecom field, than what you study in the books. it only requires that you recall what you did in the university, but that too is only for your own understand. in the field, the first of all train you about your work and then you jsut have to apply what you have learned from the training. and it is not as tough. my father was an electrical engineer and that surely is a really different and challenging field and requires a fair bit of experience to get things going. just don't feel down and try to learn from experience, and i am sure you'll be a great electrical engineer as well. but still if you think it is too tough for you and that you cannot settle yourself in, i would recommend you to specialize in a field that interests you.
good luck.

Hello, although I don't know much about electric engineer, I suggest you to find something related with your specialty that you're easier to deal with. For instance, if i'm tired of learning a language textbook I'll begin to listen to music in that language. You can do in similar ways and finally you'll get interested in your job and be more efficient in working.
