What can one say about a medium rare ribeye steak cooked on an outdoor grill on a warm summer day with a baked potato and corn on the cob? When you sit down with your plate piled high in front of you (yes, even a salad can be forgiven) and you make that first slice out of the ribeye and those beautiful juices run free, you can't wait to tear into it, but yet you want to savor it because it is the first cookout of the year and there's nothing like it, so you savor that first bite. You refrain from steak sauce because it will cover up the flavor of the steak just recently taken off the grill with all those grill marks on it. What a gorgeous site, isn't it? To savor it a little longer, you peel the foil off the corn on the cob and slather it with butter and some salt and pepper and sink your teeth into the tender, sweet kernels. You can't help yourself, you finish off half of it before moving on to the potato. You reach again for the butter, patting on a generous portion, then heaping two tablespoons of sourcream and a sprinkle of bacon bits and cheddar cheese. Everything gets melty and lovely and you delve in for a bite or two, but your steak is beckoning you back; you can't resist it any longer. Your resistance is completely worn down and you HAVE to finish that wonderfully, tender piece of steak. You don't want to look like a pig by slurping and gouging, so you take your time, even though you want to eat it quickly and allow the wonderful flavor to linger on your palette. But you refrain and eat like a gentleman. All too soon the steak is gone and all that is left are the juices. Aaaah! A nice warm piece of garlic bread will take care of that, blending the taste of the steak juices and garlic. Perfection. Now time to finish off the corn and the potato. What a way to end a steak dinner. You reach under the table and loosen your belt a notch. Wow! That's better. Wait, what's this? Your hostess is coming through the patio door with strawberry shortcake. Okay. You reach under the table one more time and loosen your belt yet one more time and dig into the strawberry stortcake. What an extraordinary end to an extraordinary day!

Oh I just love having steak! It becomes my "reward" once in a while. My husband cooks a mean steak too with garlic mashed potato and buttered vegetables. We love having a good dessert and coffee after a great meal. There are a lot of great steakhouse here in our country.

I don't know which is better -- good seafoot or a good steak. Right now I have my taste buds set for a good steak with all the trimmings! Thanks for responding!
