Do you think aloud?

Today I embarrassed myself with my lips muttering things that I was thinking. Luckily no one could hear me. This is not the first time, I did this previously also, when I am at home alone. I am developing this habit of thinking aloud and I would blabber my schedules and rehearse what I am supposed to do in a low tone, audibly though. Do you mumble your thoughts as well?

I mumble but in a very low tone so that no one could hear me. Better I note down the tasks to be performed on a piece of paper or in my digital diary or in my cell phone, so that I could be reminded about the pending tasks. I have seen few people muttering and talking to themselves about something to be done.

Mimpi! You are showering me with your kind words, perhaphs more than what I deserve. It will be a great pleasure for me, if I could set an example for my friends.

And just what might have happened if someone had heard you ? I've done this a few times too and it's usually when i'm in a hyper state, either excited, or mad at something. Funnily enough, only a few words get to be audible enough for people to hear, and i get that questioning look on thier face. The one time that i did it on my stroll in the evening, i had the passers by giving me that look saying " He's loosing it"

For some reason, I seem to get cold when angry or upset. I tend to burble when I am alone, thinking of somethings to be done or have to keep up with something or before an important meet and things like that. I think, the fact that most of the times I am alone at home has made me carefree and not being conscious of how nutty could I look!

We all relate it to as how nutty we look.. Eccentric is the word i think an observer would use. Come to think of it What's wrong with talking to oneself aloud once in a way ?

No harm as such. But would you like to look eccentric among faces around. I would rather put a tape on my lips...

Hehehehe Guilty as charged mimpi Especially that I am most likely home alone Ive also articulated my thoughts out loud. There's no one to hear me after all. Im free to say what I want without bothering anybody. Since Im a tv 'addict', it would also follow that I 'talk' to the tv and say what's on my mind about the show that I was watching. I havent thrown things at the tv out of frustration though.LOL Alone in public I keep thoughts to myself. Id actually resemble a statue sitting in one of those park benches or school kiosks. Id just look around, observe other people, enjoy the leisurely time whilst being immersed in my own thoughts. Im usually walking when Im alone though so Im thinking of things while Im walking to a destination. Sometimes the destination is vague. Ill just go to where my feet would take me. However, one cannot avoid the situations of talking to oneself loudly enough that someone passing might hear. When that happens I just look at the person, smile, walk away and then laugh at myself. The other person might already be thinking Im crazy.LOL!^_^

Hahaha.....I have been there a few times. I think, the fact that I stay alone at home most of the times makes it dominant. Even as I write now, I find I am repeating my thoughts. Now, I stopped now. Once I go conscious I stop. Luckily!!

Thinking a loud? is that doable? maybe saying a loud what you have thought, because i think nobody can think a and letting his thoughts be heard by the people around him. hehehehe,,

It happens sometimes Mimpi, lately i happened with me whenever I was very happy or stressed or angry i did it and i also got worried as what am I doing? Am i going to be mad or what... But i guess if you do it rarely then it's fine but if you do it most of the time then it is something to get concerned :D and see a doctor.

There have been many times I have caught myself thinking a loud, and even responding or thinking a loud like the way I would respond back here in myLot and sometimes even while posting here as well. For me as someone who Loves to Write and would Love to be a published author I guess it just helps me be able to express myself better as well.

I don't believe I do this, not that I'm aware of anyway. I'll mumble sarcastic comments under my breath and things like that, but I don't think aloud as such. Maybe I should start? It'd be nice to listen to someone other than my Wife who actually makes sense!

No I do not think aloud. I am very silent in most of the things in life. May be absent mindedly I have thought something which others could perceive. But I am not so generally.

Normally I don't do this. Just a couple of weeks ago, I did mutter "JERK" under my breath to a customer that was entirely living up to the part. I've been on this job for 15 years and never done that so it even shocked me that my thoughts were vocal. It wasn't pretty.....he threatened to make my life a "living hell" if I ever spoke to him like that again. My daughter told me that if I'm really emotional about something that I do have a tendency to mutter aloud. I imagine it is my way of sorting my thoughts....that's my defense anyway.

That's certainly a kind of defence. I do it when many times just to come with terms with something that has happened.

Done that! It’s really embarrassing in my part that I blubber my thoughts in a jeepney (public transportation here in the Philippines). The woman besides me are really confused, I see in her eyes that she’s kind of scared somehow. I think she thought that I’m psycho or something. That’s really embarrassed me I would melt in that instance. The worst part is that she has company with her and they keep glancing on each other. It took me a couple of minutes to regain my composure, to prove that I’m in the right mind whose just think aloud my thoughts in that moment I pulled a plate in my envelope and pretend I’m studying the floor plan that I draw. That is one embarrassing moment of my life that I‘m able to laughed to every time I remember.

I have heard that it is not good if you thikn aloud, be it in a public or alone. I have this tendency of doing it from childhood and many times my friends have made joke about it and felt me embarrassed. Well, since I read that article somewherem, I am trying to control myself but it isn't that easy, is it?

LOL!!! Hi mimpi! I do mumble thoughts sometimes. My granfather once said that talking to yourself is not crazy..it's when you answer yourself you might need to worry..LOL..guess I'm a nut. I usually do it when I'm very busy..kinda reciting what I need to do...like "ok..now I need to.." I don't do it regularly but I guess it could easily become a habit. I work with a lady that talks to herself all the time. I thought she was talking to me once...lol.

Oh yes this happened to me many a times..... specially if i am in a hurry and trying to remember things which i have to do today.... It also happens when i am really excited or really anxious for something....it is very natural for these things to take place.... it can be risky though.....if you blabbering something about your fiends and he is right next to you then you can end up in trouble....lolzz I notice it mostly during my exams when i try to recollect an answer i do that in bus, train and wherever possible.....people try and guess what exactly is bothering him.....hehe

LMAO omg yea...especially when I'm stressed or upset about something..I'll mumble on and on about several random things..anyone in earshot usually ends up either confused (thinking I'm talking to them), entertained (the ppl who know me and are familiar with this sort of behaviour) or scared witless (random strangers)

Hey mimpi! Don't be embarrassed! I am sure that many people do this! I think that I do it too! I am so used to being home alone sometimes that I forget that I tend to talk out loud! I am doing it right now while I am typing this response to you! I don't know why I have to say what I am writing out loud, but I do! Now that is silly! So lots of people do it! So you are not alone! I catch my boyfriend talking to himself all the time and I think he's talking to me and he's talking to the television or himself so there!

I wouldn't worry mimpi, I have full on conversations with myself, always have since I was a kid; I think it's because in my family I was the only one who made any sense!Or better still the only one who bothered to hear me out! I've heard it said that talking to yourself is the first sign of madness but only if you answer yourself, well I do both! My husband calls me 'eccentric' and I guess I am in so many ways! I definitely have to think aloud especially when stressed or when I am trying to figure something out. I think it's quite normal but coming from me it is debatable!

You are absolutely fun ! I think, I am like you as well. Intermittently quirky and intermittently corny, I can do anything that would leave my folks amazed! I am the black sheep in the family, I guess. And you are not eccentric, you are just being normal.

Hi,mimpi1911 Hum,when I am alone,I will speak out what I am thinking about sometimes. But in other cases,I will not do like this.I prefer to speak out my thoughts after I have made sure that my thoughts were of sense.Or I will just keep it deep in my mind. Have a nice day!
