Why should you mark "Best Response"

I think the person who you give the best response to does actually earn a little bit of money. I know when I look at my earnings they don't completely add up and when I asked about it someone said it was probably because I have been getting best response answers so therefore myLot kind of rewards you for your good deed to the community. I think its actually true though, because I remember looking at my earnings and then the next time I logged it, my earnings went up 1 cent and I had received an email about having a best response. Also - I think marking best response is suppose to show other members who are looking at previous discussions which one is the best for them to pay attention to. Its like Yahoo Answers.

The best response is that it has a sense of response from the topic you are discussing, i also gave a best response to those who have a convincing response to the topic that i been discussing.

I mark the Best Response to the reply that I have liked the best. Sometimes there are more than one reply that I like but then finally I have to choose the best among all. I do not know whether this affects the earnings in any way though.
