healthy pizza?????

I love love love love love pizza. I also really love to eat healthy and try to do so most of the time. I have started to make "healthier" versions of pizza, though. I thought I would share one. Instead of making a big doughy crust, I have been using pita bread as the crust. I top it with sauce and lots of veggies. I then make a mixture of reduced fat shredded cheese and freshly shredded parmesan and put it all over everything. It is really tasty.........you should try it!

The next time I make pizza i will try it. They also have wheat crust now. Its a healther alterative if you want to still use a tradtional crust.

I love wheat crust too!!!!! In fact, someone actually has a recipe posted for wheat crust.
Another thing that I have used is Flat out wraps. I don't know if your familiar with the brand. You can usually find them around the deli or bakery section in a grocery store. I personally think they are gross to use as wraps, but yummy as a crispy thin crust for pizza. They have different flavors, too, like spinach and tomato so you can really get creative!

I also love pizza Thats a good recipe idea that you got. Its like of a vegetarian pizza huh? I will also try to do that when I cook pizza again.

I usually make them vegetarian but you can make them however you like. I actually made one last night with meat. I used the pita crust. I topped it with ham, pineapple, coconut, toasted almonds, cheese, and sauce. It sounds strange but it was very tasty!

Hi Kelly82, I have been a big fan of pizza my whole life. I have made pizza on many different types of bread. Wheat bread, hamburger bun, hot dog bun, English muffin, bagel, French bread, pita bread, and of course wheat and white pizza crust. And they are all good!
