When you can't sleep, do you know disturb others? Do you know someone who does?

I remember a few years ago, I went on a overseas trip with a group of friends. There was this friend who couldn't sleep well in a foreign environment. For the first couple of nights, she would disturb all of us and stopped us from sleeping so that we could accompany her. She would force us to play card games with her. Being nice people, we obliged for the first two nights. However, what made us angry was that she always fell asleep in the middle of the card game and by then, we were all too awake to fall asleep. On subsequent nights, we put on ear plugs and totally ignored her. Do you have such friends too? Or do you have such a habit? Please share. Thanks.

lol =D Are u talking about me?? Because i'm such a person as well.. lol =D However, it happens when i was in the army.. It's not that i cant fall asleep, but rather i'm not used to sleeping in the afternoon when the weather is so hot.. PLus, once one start to nap, all the others will follow suit and i'll be doing duty with another newbie,(i'm an old bird liao), which makes it even more sianz.. Thus, i will always make sure i wont allow them to nap, by playing ball in the bunk, creating lots of noise, so that they have no choice but to wake up.. lol =D

LOL. Taking a nap is different. I think it's reasonable to stop people from napping but it's unreasonable to stop people from sleeping at night.

So that i can have the whole group of ple staying up with me, for at least 2 hrs before i continue with my duty for another hr or so.. lol =D BUt that does not happen often though, and it only happens when i'm on duty from 12am-3am.. lol =D

Hi!~ See that you're active again here lately!~Yeah, according to your description, such people do exists no matter where one may come from, haha!~I'll not oblige & entertain them as I'm the type that takes quite a while to fall asleep as I normally do a lot of thinking before going into dreamland. So I'll be concentrating to try to fall asleep, if not I'll find myself still wide awake even after everyone has fallen asleep

I have a hard time sleeping in new places. but I would not distrub anyone else. I would find some thing quiet i could do till I fell asleep. I hate noise of any kind so if I went on a trip with others I would need my own room. I could not share with anyone or i would never get to sleep.

I hate noise too. I can't sleep with noise and lights on. Hence, that's why I'm usually the last to sleep if I share rooms with friends. I'll make sure they are all asleep, then I'll prepare myself to sleep.

i don't have any problem sleeping so i was never known to cause disturbance amongst roommates. i'm really quite flexible depending on the company i keep. i could stay up late or until the wee hours of the morning if somebody wants to have a chat or a good laugh or simply spend some time talking. and i could fall asleep as easily especially when tired or after a shower, when everyone else is asleep, i'll also find myself asleep. so far in my family, the kids who took a long nap in the afternoon are the ones who couldn't sleep on regular hours. as highstrung as the little boys that they are, they would bombard you with a thousand why questions, ask you for a story, sometimes a song, and worse... the very soft body massage to relax them. my nephews are very demanding kids... that sometimes you couldn't sleep unless they had. and moments after you thought them asleep and you're quite thankful to be able to finally sleep yourself... they slightly open their eyelids and ask you for a bottle of milk.

Wow.. you are the perfect room mate. My University room mate was like you. She's really flexible and it makes sleeping very easy for me. If I were to sleep with someone as fussy as myself, it might be war every night.

Hi,poohgal, That's sound really interesting ..haha ~~Actually I have this kind of person in my dormitory ,I remember at that time we will have a relatively big examination on the next day ,however she didn't fall asleep because of neverous ,and what made us unbearable is that she just trying to speak to all of us even though she know we are so tired .I do not like these kind of person who only thinks for themselves without considering the other people's feelings ..

Very true. I can't stand such people too. I've learned to ignore them.
