How long do you let your dirty dishes set?

I hate washing dishes! We have a dishwasher but you still have to rinse the dishes before loading them in the dishwasher if you want them to be clean. So I immediately rinse the dishes but it usually takes a week to get a full load of dishes in the dishwasher. How long does your dirty dishes set?

Usually it takes us a couple of days to get a full load in the dishwasher. I always wash the pots and pans by hand though.

@fishtiger58 Totally agree with that. I am not much for cooking all the time. I would much rather have stir fry than takeout though. LOL

@mommaj I used to cook 7 nights a week. Now the kids are grown hubby and I are retired so I don't cook every night anymore. We order take out, or have something simple that I don't have to cook. Heat up is fine cooking every night is not.

I rinse my dishes and stack them in the dishwasher and then run it about twice a week. Although my dishes aren't really dirty that are sitting in the dishwasher I like that they get a nice hot wash and are sanitized (especially the silverware)

Usually only a few days as there are three of us eating most meals here. We bought one where we don't have to rinse the dishes first, but one of these days we may need to begin as sometimes there is still particles on the clean dishes after running it. At present, I just need to remember to run an extra time with a cleaning pod, but usually there are enough for a new load before I get around to the cleaning cycle.
Do you think your thread buddy will be back any time soon?

@MarshaMusselman I think @fishtiger58 has been busy. She might be back today. She worked the polls and got wiped out. After all those hours it is no wonder.
I hate doing dishes, even just rinsing them. LOL I think I rinse them just to get them clean. I am not sure if all dishwashers are capable of cleaning dishes even with stuff NOT on them. LOL

@MarshaMusselman Bwahaha. I didn't know if she sent you a suggestion and if she did I thought it was odd that she suggest this unless you are having problems with your dishwasher. LOL No worries. Any visits are appreciated. LOL

@mommaj @MarshaMusselman Good morning guys. Yes Marsha I am an election judge and worked the polls here on Tuesday. It was a long 16 hour day. Takes me another day to feel human again. I do rinse mine and I have never heard of a dishwasher that you didn't have to rinse the dishes first. I always rinse mine. Not going to be around much today either, my husband and I are going to the Chicago Garden and Flower show on Navy Pier in downtown Chicago today should be a fun day.

My husband and I hand wash our dishes. I have a dishwasher, but we do not use it. We wash dishes daily.

Mine usually sit in the dishwasher at least 5 days. There are only 2 people here and sometimes we just grab a sandwich or something small so we don't have many dishes then. When we make a full dinner than we have a lot but we do the pots and pans by hand. Actually, after rinsing the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher makes them almost totally clean.

I don't mind washing plates by hand. I could do that and bowls all day. It's the same as you as far as utensils. I hate washing utensils. Even as a kid I would hate to wash the spoons, forks and knives. I think the forks get the most of my dislike. I don't know why.

We get dish washers here but I prefer hand washing. Our maid does it once a day. I accumulate them in the sink and they are all washed together. This way we save on water.

@mommaj Nowadays there is some kind of shampoo available which dry washes one's hair. May be you can look for such stuff that you can use for dishes and save water. But then I suppose you need to scrub them. That I do not how you will manage if you do not want to do that (lol)
