I have learned that the more you write, the better your earnings. :-) The issue of completing a task is something I just learned today. Before, I was just as confused as you are at this present moment. There will be times when you will be given a task to complete. The task will not be given to you, (if any are available) it is something you have to search for yourself. :-) *Word of advice* When you are searching for a task, make sure that you scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page because sometimes they are "hidden". As far as friends are concerned, you will be given the choice of whether you would like to add them or not. I find that is better to have them. Whenever your friend sends out a post you will have the opportunity to send a response. :-)

Welcome to myLot. I am also a new user. I have had this about a week already. I've still a lot to learn about this new website, (new to me). I know that when you start discussions you get earnings. I think when you reply to it you can also get some more earnings. I've read that when you send a referral and they sign on you get a percentage of it as well. I'm learning more and more everyday. Good luck. :)

Welcome to MyLot! I suggest that you add some things under your interests and that will help you find discussions that you may have something meaningful to contribute to. Also, it will help you find friends that you have things in common with.
I find the tasks too much work for the pay. Plus, I don't have one of the programs to do one of the easier tasks.
Just remember to always be courteous and polite, even when you disagree with someone. Never go on the attack. That will get you negative ratings and enemies.

I do make some earnings ofcourse, posting and responding to messages. But, what I enjoy most is meeting and making friends with people from countries around the world, learning and exchanging knowlede about different countries and cultures.
