College Students and Text Books

I have recently found this website called http://www.textbookrevolt.com . I will definitely be using it this coming up semester. It's a way to get free textbooks, much like donating. And you can donate your old books as well. Would you donate your old books, or sell them? Do you feel a lot of college kids could benefit from this?

I have donated books before, not through that site but I gave them away on FreeCycle. However, I only give away my books that I cannot sell back. If I paid $200 for a book I am going to try to sell it. I guess a lot of college students don't work so they don't understand the value. I know people who just let their textbooks sit at home because they don't even bother to sell them back. But I'm guessing these people wouldn't be bothered to donate them either. I don't think this would be useful for a whole lot of people, since it probably wouldn't get used a whole lot. But it's a nice idea.

Absolutely! I think it's awesome that there's a site out there like this. The majority of my college book shopping has been on Amazon and Ebay, but those still can be expensive. Getting them for free would be awesome. I have never heard of that site. I will definitely have to check it out. Thanks!

I think that this would be a wonderful service. I way to recycle books. Personally, I love books and I am always hanging onto my books in case I might, one day, what to refer back to one of them. But, if I knew that I could help a student I may have to rethink my position. Thanks for the site. I will check it out.
