I have been hearing twitter everywhere... when i first joined... i did not know that a lot of people... especially celebrities where somewhat addicted to this site... i only learned about that when i saw on the news that Ashton Kutcher out twitted CNN by being the first to have 1 million followers...
1 million is a lot... already the population of a small country... i only have like 8 followers and is following arount 10... so that is nothing compared to other members...
Do you have a twitter account?... what do you use your twitter for?... how many followers do you have and how many are you following?

I like people because there are a lot of cool open source applications that help tweeting. Useful tools like tweetdeck (follow people back but still see friends updates in a separate section) and there was one site that checked who didn't follow you back (some people unfollow and it's a pain in the censored to unfollow them unless you use some application or site).

I didn't even know that tweetdeck feature... there is really a lot of things for me to learn at twitter... i hope i get the time to do some exploring... i don't mind not being followed... but it can really be a pain when some people tend to be selfish...
Thanks for the response...

I agree that twitter will be around for quite a while... with the number of members increasing by the thousand everyday... they would need to upgrade their system very fast in order to accomodate the millions and millions of members...
Thanks for the response...

I started twitting about a week ago. It's fun coz I'm following twitters I'm interested in like E!, Ellen degeneres, and also Stocks... I like it because I get updates from the twitts I follow. It keeps me up with whats going on in my field of interests.

I don't understand how one can get updates if one is following like hundreds of members... they usually give updates at the same time... and that is a lot of thing to read... even if it every message is only 140 characters... well, i guess we just need to get used to them...

Same here... there is still a lot of features and people to discover in that site... but since we are quite busy... exploring it would have to wait a while... i am really glad that we are able to earn form the side even if it's just a few cents...

i use twitter to update people whenever i have a new blog post. also, this is where i follow neil gaiman, one of my favorite authors. i also check twitter whenever i want to be updated on non-sensationalized updates from cancer groups and such things.
i have recently rejoined twitter as a different user. i'm following 25 people and have 23 followers.

A lot of people don't like Twitter but there are more people who do and in fact joining the site by thousands everyday...
So what makes Twitter attractive? Precisely because people don't have the time necessary to read long updates anymore -- short messages is in fact much easier to read than the normal blogs...and if you like what you read in that short message you have the option of exploring it further if there is a link...
Simplicity is definitely the plus factor for Twitter...no wonder it is catching like a hot fire...the site could not even cope up with the traffic sometimes...

I agree with that cannot cope up with the traffic thing... my cell phone always hang up when i access the site there... so i decided not to ever again... but you are right when you say that simplicity is a plus factor n twitter... i guess more and more people prefer things to be short and simple...
Thanks for the response...

I don't really understand Twitter.
It says you post what you are doing now on twitter...but who can see those things? Are my posts going to be broadcast to mobiles as sms or what?
How come we can earn through it?

Hi there aseretdd
I am a twitter user since October 2, 2008. I use twitter to update my personal and online friends that I rarely see on what keeps me busy, if I am going to be out of town or travelling in other countries. I am following 45 persons in my account, while I have 46 followers. I am also following some celebrities, IT professionals (like Bill Gates) and CEOs. Its also fun to tweet as I discover some new things from them. You can know when you joined twitter by going here: http://whendidyoujointwitter.appspot.com/

I do not have a twitter account. My day is pretty full up what with myLot and Facebook and my writing my novel and singing. I mean I do not have that much time. I might look in it, but since it is for commercial people and organizations, I doubt that it would hold much appeal to me. Besides I am not a celebrity yet. Maybe I will, but I was never a leader. In fact if anyone followed my lead, I probably would have had a heart attack.

I don't twitter and have no plans. Too many sites and not enough time or interest. I don't give a rat's patootie about followers or popularity and don't even keep up with my page at MySpace. I think myLot is enough for me. I also participate in a couple crafting sites. Best wishes on your online experiences!

I have a Twitter account and I am following about 10 myself I also have followers not many just 12 or so. I don't really understand Twitter and the things that they are writing really don't make any sense to me. I hardly ever log in. I wish I could get more understanding so that I would be more interested in Tweeting.

I am on twitter. I signed up about a month ago. Not sure why I did, just did. Guess I was bored that day..lol. I am following like 30 and I have about 20 followers I believe, something like that. I usually just update whatever I am doing whenever I think about signing on to it. Maybe if I was more active in it I would have more followers. I sigh into it maybe once a day and the time depends on whatever else is going on.
1 million is ALOT! How would 1 keep up with all that!

I think I joined there in December 2008 but honestly I don't know get why there are so many people.
It's boring to me.
I mean I rather enjoy reading long entries than short messages. That makes twitter to me such a stalkerish place because if you wanted you could stalk a person like for the whole day when that person is pretty active and writes a lot and what he does right now where he is right now..and such stuff.
I only have 5 followers and follow 5 people but I rarely log in...I really prefer blog and community systems like livejournal...I think the last time I logged in at twitter was 1 month ago. So I can also say..I don't use it for anything although I wrote some short messages..hmm. It's just a too strange place to me.

I fell the same way... the 140 characters per tweet is like not enough for me too... i have gotten used to typing long entries... that the change can be a difficult adjustment... i mainly use twitter to answer dneero questions... aside for that... nothing else...
Thanks for the response... welcome to mylot and i hope you enjoy every minute of your stay here...
