A person I know recently asked me, "Friend, what's a friend?" So I ask you the same question... What is a friend... What does it mean to be a friend in real life, not just online? How would you define friendship if someone asked you?

Friend is someone who likes you for what you are, tells whats good to others and bad to you, someone who's always there, and feels happy when you achieve something a real life friend would care for you and guide you when you go wrong, a shoulder to cry when your sad, someone who makes you laugh when you feel down, its a relationship thats better than anything in this world, someone who stays with you for the rest of your life, nomatter what, protects you and understands you and your situation better than anyone else, some one you can rely on and someone who takes you seriously. someone who calls you up whenever he's free so he can hang with you, do some shopping and be silly, someone who you can talk to carefree.. more like a extension of you

A friend is a person whom you can lean on in times of difficulties and whom you can trust on and reveal your secret..a good friends is when he she is happy to your success. friendship is someone who will last long even you are not together..there are person whom you talk and see everyday but you don't consider them for real friends..a true friend is the one whom you can trust at all times.

Hi Whiteheron,
Have you ever heard "a friend in need is a friend indeed". I know this quotation since we first start learning english. A person who with no friends, he will be lonely. Because he will have no one to share about his happiness, sadness. Sometimes, for certain things, you can only do it with friends. Boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife, those have their own rule. Friend is just friend, the person who share his happiness and sadness with you, the one who you can share your happiness and sadness with. Friend have so much identification which i can't tell you all. Let's see what others say.

Yes, I have heard that quote...
I agree that without friends people are lonely and that they do share so much with us. Thank you for sharing here.

Well a tough and simple question to answer, it is the way you take it. For me I think the real or best friend is one with you when the whole world is against you. That does not mean that he will support you in your wrong things. Many of us have best friends since childhood and we have continued our friendship till date. But many times you may get close to new friends so much that you feel very comfartable sharing your feelings with them. I have many such friends and some of them are very special to me, who knows me very well and same I know about them. So friends are very precious part of life according to me.
