maybe it's all the commercial's fault,we changed our idealized beauty and perfection of a certain type,so in order to dump those love handles,to be a size zero,so that the clothes will fit us like a glove.we skip the beef and pump some iron. and you know ,those cracker-thin modles ,eight out of ten would regurgitate food after chow, yuck! what's worse,we may even trying to use that way. For someone .temptation always trumps resolution.
FORthose already too chunky, losing some pounds will make them healthier,Butlose excessive amounts of weight on a diet.it only bring on many more health problems like malnutrition ,anemia, etc.
feel free to say something about losing weight.

i totally agree with you and i think its mainly the media and parents that are at fault and peer pressure. its hard enough being a teenager with all the school work and all but nowadays as i walk down the corridors i can hear kids as young as the second grade complaining how fat they are and that they need to be on a diet. what has gotten in to their minds? whatever happened to the happy care free days? and there was this one time where i just felt awful for this girl, she asked her mum if she could have a bag of chips and her mum scolded her and told her that she was round enough, the look on the girls face was really saddening.
now we all know Dora the explorer and its a big hit with the younger kids. now the company that made Dora wants to have a new program called Dora grows up and when they released the new doll parents were furious. Dora traded in her rubber shoes for 4-inched high stilettos and highlights in her extensions. parents were voicing their opinions on the figurine. and the ever so popular brats with their body hugging hipster jeans and pink highlights and heavy plastered-on pancake make up and fish net stockings are really giving little girls different ideas on beauty. i really wish they'd stop and think the effect it will have on the girl's future.

I think losing weight is a combination of diet and excercise. Both the things should be done with utmost care and both of them together can do miracles for everyone.

It's really frustrating sometimes when you see those commercials and those body... then when you go to the mall? the more irritating thing is that when they don't have your size?
I am health and weight conscious but when I see these kind of commercials? I sometimes over do it! the "weight" part hahaha! Because I don't eat healthy anymore when I see them. I sometimes envy those! I blame it all on media! Hahahah! Good thing I have friends around who tells me that it's too much. So I come back to reality and have a balanced diet again. :D

I think that we should be able to see the media and the comercials with the notion of what really goes on behind the scenes, because everybody is different and not everyone can eat like a cow and stay skinny, the same like not everybody needs the same amount of exercise to lose weight, so u can't really compare yourself to anybody because you never know what kind of system people have. I think if you want to be skinny be skinny just don't kill yourself in the process, and find whatever fits your own body.

This 'trying to be thin' fettish has become the fettist for a lot of people in our generation.More so because of the bad food habits we have and the bad habbits we have cultivated on the name of modrenization.I my self am 20 kgs overweight and have been wanting to shed some pounds eversince a long time.
'The problem' (thats what i call my lack of inability to do so), is i am a food lover and a food-o-holic.to top that i am darn LAZY.Hee Hee
So,Good Luck to all the people out there trying to shed some baggage and get back in shape.

You're totally right. I just have the problem of being too thin. I'm skinny is not because I want to be thin, it's because of my habit. I don't like eating meat in born, every kind of meat. I jsut can eat some shrimp, fish, pork, beaf stick, chicken, cannot eat any of other kinds of meat. So I always tell others I'm a vegetarian...lol...Actually I'm treating them, I'm not a real vegetarian. I don't like being skinny because I'm suffering malnutrition now, and I'm trying to put on weight, hope I can be successful.

i agree with you. because of the influence of media over the many or should i say the majority, when tend to follow what is promoted in the different television shows, magazines, etc. because of that, a lot of women are trying their best to look thinner because the message we commonly get from the media is that "being thin is beautiful." i hope this concept gets to be changed because it's really wrong and it is possibly the reason why a lot of young girls have low self-esteem. happy mylotting to you and thanks for the good discussion.=)

Everybody now a days is trying to lose out those extra pounds of fat from their belly, and i am no exception. I have gained some weight over the last few months and my waistline has expanded by about 3 inches. now all my jeans are tight and have to go shopping for some fresh pair of jeans trousers. taking this into consideration, I am very much interested to lose some weight and get back into my old jeans... I have scheduled some exercise regime, 15 minutes of exercise every day. I can feel the weight coming down, the weighing machine also agrees with me too. i have also stopped taking those junk foods and have cut down on soft drinks too. i am looking forward to another few weeks to get back into shape...Hope you achieve what you wish for...

It because of mentality that being thin is beautiful that most people would die to be one. We have been feed with conception fat is ugly, thin is everything. Everywhere that we look, even television and magazines, we will be seeing images of beautiful but very thin girls with beautiful clothes. Even tv shows that, ugly or fat girls get nothing unless they become pretty and thin in the end.

I have lost 55 pounds and it was hard, and the real work is keeping it off. I feel great, but I am not looking to be super skinny, and skinny is not pretty. Curves and being tone is, and my goal was not to be a size zero. I weigh what I am suppost to for my size, but I still have 35% body fat. Being thin is not everything.
