Do we all have soul?

A few days back, a chat between me and one of my best friend took a path where we have never been previously.
She said that every person has a soul...
and I said...
"We all know how life forms have evolved (Darwin's Theory - Survival of the fittest and all that). Some ten thousand years back there were hand full of humans only and now there are 700 billion human beings roaming on almost every part of this planet. So where were those souls used to live before then entered their human incarnation."
She was quite for a while and after a while touched another topic that was way away from these things.
I want to ask everyone who believes in God, that don't you think that, whatever Science can't explain is God right now and once Science will be able to solve few more things then God will be pushed further away from us.
See, people used to believe that fire is God and now we know it is a process of formation of gases and other residue in presence of heat and oxygen.
Sun was believed to be revolving around the earth and was considered as divine in every ancient civilization, while we now know that it is a huge chimney where fusion reaction is taking place and one day it will stop.
I believe that there is no God and as Science progresses things will be more clear to everyone.
Do you still believe we all have soul? and if yes why?
I think Science has not reached the point where it can tell what life is and once we can do that...

If you can consider an energy body a soul then yes as all life has a soul.
Science has proven that all life in fact all existence is based in energy fields
with no known limitations. Because of that lack of limitations these fields can expand continuously. The only difference between you and a rock is the frequency of the energy field.

Never heard of this energy field thing before.
I would like to know more about it. Can you tell us or can you provide us with a link to something related to this theory.

Oh! all of us. for that every human being is born with an inherent soul which covers up their -physical statures. The differences in thinking and outlook of different personalities itself bear ample testimony to this. Why is it that we different veins of thought? It is difference in the nature of the souls that resides within the human body.

If that is why we have different thoughts then how come some people have similar thoughts at each and every single point of life as well?

You have just raised an excellent point. How does science explain our differing thoughts. Even two identical twins can have differing thoughts. If science cannot explain it, does it mean that it doean't exist? Isn't our ability to have free will an idication of differing souls, even if physically (and biologically as in twins) two people are the same?

Oh man...
What ever you have said is totally right and I agree to it initially...
but then that means there is no god and no soul.
Once that id deduced I think I can't believe what ever you have said.
I believe in science and all the theories you have talked about but still believe in gos and soul.

My dear friend, you are having both your legs in two different boats going in opposite directions and you are bound to fall.
Choose God and Soul or Science.

Well, well, well.
What about those infinite number of animals wandering on the Earth. I am sure that there will be more deers and lions aroun there at that point of time. So, their soul turned into a human one. I mean they all must have seeked for a human body and they finally got it. Hence we are 7 billion human being living now and only few thousands that time!

So you mean so many animals are having their wishes fulfilled...and does it somehow lead to a situation where every living being on this planet will be a human being!

coolmailraj, it is a tough one to put into words. I asked myself the question and my answer is yes I do believe each one of us has a soul, an essence, if you like. Why do I believe that? Well, this is where it gets difficult to explain. We are so much more than our bodies, we have feelings, we have instincts, and those things are not physical.
If you take a look at nature, sure everything has a scientific explanation but if you believe we have evolved over millions of years, and I do tend to agree with this, who started all of this? You say the sun is a 'huge chimney were fusion reaction is taking place'; regardless of what it is or what is does, ask yourself, who put it there?
There are so many things that we can't control in life, from natural phenomenon to everyday circumstances, luck versus bad luck etc, who controls those things? Who decides?
My point here is that there may not be a God as depicted in Christian religions but there is 'something' running this show of that I am certain. I choose to call it God but the name is irrelevant, it is an unknown force and I have an inkling that we are a part of that mysterious force, hence our soul. There is more to you than a physically functioning body can you see that?

Can't. I can't see that and no proof of it being there and hence don't believe it.
The question still the same...science has no explanation, till date, of our emotions and everything that is not matter or energy and hence it is believed to be God...once we have reason for it it won't be.

Well we'll have to agree to disagree on this one!
Science cannot explain the unexplainable, there is nothing scientific about an emotion or feeling such as love for instance and in my opinion there never will be.
Science cannot explain it because it cannot be explained, it is a mystery.

of course I do I am university educated, but all in all I still believe there was a creater,
the big bang theory postulates that molescules or adams just got together to make a big bank and the beginning of everything (universe)began.
However no one has been able to explain where the adams came from and why they got together, that too is just a therapy
just like religion is faith
and for me the creator created those adams
it does not devoid the science there it compliments it and says that they go hand in hand.

I belive that every human being has a soul and I also belive that there is a God. I don't belive that Dawin's Theory is right. I think God made everyone with a soul and a choice to except him or not to except him.

its same question like exsistence of God, its all that we believe, but no one can prove its exsistance....but when we talk about some things like rebirth etc, then soul come into exsistance.....all these things are just believed, and there is no one who can prove, believers are many...

I completely agree with you that the ultimate power is God and we need to follow him ultimatelely. HE controls the whole universe and ther eis logic behind many of his doings. We all definately have a soul and we all have to be abide by that super power.

I believe that every living thing has a soul. Where else does the spark of life come from? It's the life in our souls that make up different from tocks. As far as where the souls were before they were attached to something living...it is a big universe out there. Just because we are bound to this planet does not mean that they are. Science instead of disproving God, to me makes what he's done more spectacular. Matter cannot come from nowhere and nothing.

That was very much obvious.
Coming back to your original response...I think one day science will prove that the "spark of life" is no more then a process too that happened in some suitable conditions and yes natter would have not originated from nothing. But even God can't have materialized from nothing.

It's all the very processes happening in suitable conditions that leads me to believe in a greater power. Think of all of the coincidences that led to the creation of the world we live in, as we know it. What if the order had been different?
If matter did not come from nothing...where did it come from? Science has not explained that. And God, or a supreme power did not materialize either. We are taught that he/she has always existed.
I would rather belive, and find out I was wrong (because I have then lost nothing) that to not believe and find out that there is. What have I lost then? Perhaps eternity and reuniting with my loved one, if there is such a thing, would be blocked to me. In that case I would have lost everything.

I think we all have souls..I think it's just your spirit, how you feel - we all have the ability to feel a particular emotion whether you believe in god or not. It's like when someone asks you, how are you today? some say fine, good or in good spirits - its just an emotional feeling to me that elevates according to ones on beliefs..some of us having loving souls, warm vibes while others can have the exact opposite, dark or depressing. It really depends on your interpretation. We all have soul - some are just deeper than others, I suppose.

Everyone is defining soul in their own way now.
I respect your view as well but don't you think the science has given us enough evidences to say that there is nothing like a soul.

I believe all of us have souls .Other wise you cannot justify many things in this world. There is a strong belief in evry man that soul travels and resides in a body and when the body perishes soul searches for a different destination . I do believe in this logic or rather i would like to call it a fact.

Soul is the universal identity of everything - living or nonliving! Unless we have soul, how can we respond to the different stages of dynamism occuring in Nature around us? So soul is the non-physical factor for every one and every thing!
Thanks for this nice posting and have a good day!

Hi.
I can't answer your question, as I have already said there are a few things that can't be answered by science till now.
But this is not a reason enough to discard other things that have proofs.

Well I do believe there is a divine presence, the Creator.
God is what I call it sometimes or sometimes just that, the Creator.
Science is about logic and faith is not about logic.
This doesn't mean we should blindly believe what holy books or dogma say
because we can't prove it.
Now it's true that some beliefs are pointless and wrong.
these are the ones that science can prove.
Sun doesn't create anything, it does affect life in some ways.
but that doesn't mean it's something to be worshipped.
I believe we all have spirit. Spirit is a mass of energy. It leaves our body when we die. Without physical restrains, spirit can practically travel into any dimension. We do have soul, or else we will die so of course I do have soul until I die. Consider a body is a machine. Soul is the fuel. Spirit is the programming. Body can't function properly without spirit, but it will be alive with soul.
There was a few references about soul and spirit made by previous responders already. If you watch paranormal show on TV, they use machines to detect presence of spirit. I'm not sure what methods they use, but go to paranormals website you will see more explanation.
I do not believe, however, science is evil. We all have a brain and a heart.
Why would using our brain to think and invent, is evil? If we listen to our heart, we will know what we do and say is right or wrong, that includes science. The brain is the science. the heart is the faith. Until the day science can prove that there is no such a thing as the Creator, I will keep believing.
About proving what life is, well we don't need science to explain it. It's a simple 's hit happens, laugh and move forward'

All those paranormal things take exceptional cases and do stupid things to prove their points and to me it is one of the most ridiculous thing to be believed.

Hi.
Spirit of a player is the way they conduct themselves on field and not the reason for their life.
