I dont have to pay for a license for my dog, but if I want to live in an apartment with him I have to prove that he has his shots, and is up to date. Every year I pay $10 to the vet so he can get his rabies shot. I live in a house so its not even a requierment but I do feel I should always keep him up to date with that shot!

I hate to say this but you have to have a license every where. the apartment isn't going to tell you , you have to have a license. Because you can get the license without having shots, because the license is seperate. talk to your local vet.

above are two examples I have to say that each county is different in their price range, But the state requires that you have a license. if caught without one you can face hefty fines.

My state requires that your dog has a license and the state then requires that you get a rabies shot for your dog which then you get another license from the vet showing that you have the required immunizations for your pooch.

Our dogs and cats here have to have their shots up to date in order to get a license.
And I'm glad of that. Otherwise too many people wouldn't bother with the shots and that's not good for the animals. I don't mind paying for the license. It's not all that expensive and when we get it renewed we get a good 'package' deal on it plus the cost of the shots.

Where I live you don't have to have a license to have a dog. Its time for my dog to get her shots but I still haven't gotten around to it yet for this year. She stays in my back yard and it is fenced in so hopefully she'll be alright until I can get it done.

I do have to get my dogs their rabies shots to get the tag for them. I would do it anyway because I live in a rural area and it is just safer for my dogs that way.
I do not feel that the people who live in my county get what they pay for when we purchase our tags. The county does not have animla controll and so the only way to have animals picked up that have been dumped is to catch them your self and take them to the pound. I feel that this is dangerous because we do not know if those animals have has their shots.
Like I said I would get the shots no matter what but those of us who live in the cxounty should not have to wait for someone to get bit before the authorites will come out and pick up strays.

Yes, here where I live, I have to license my dogs. I eally don't like it, but there isn't much I can do about it. To me, it is just anothe way to tax us when it isn't ncecessary to do so. I pay it and not worry about it, as if I don't I get fined. I really love my dogs, so I will do anything that I can to keep them safe and happy whether I like it or not.
