Actress Bea Arthur passed away today at home, she was 86 years old. You may remember her as Maude in the 1970s or from The Golden Girls. She was a wonderfully funny lady and a great actress. May she now be laughing with the angels in heaven. Rest In Peace Bea Arthur

Hello Kitty, I was saddened to hear that Bea Arthur passed away today. I have been a fan since she played alongside Lucille Ball in "Mame". Here's a great pic of Lucy & Bea! http://www.geocities.com/TelevisionCity/6066/mame.html May Heaven make a special place for this dedicated comedienne.

Oh no! I didn't even see this. LMN I think or WE or something has picked up reruns of the Golden Girls and I found myself having a lazy weekend this weekend so while my DH was at work, I watched The Golden Girls in between DD's naps and medications (She's not feeling well). She was a great actress and did a wonderful job as Dorothy on GG. A bit of trivia about her -- If you'll watch their front door, on the back, Bea Arthur carved a an exclamation point (!) into the door in the first season. It stayed there until the end of the show.
