What's up with this swine flu?? If it's not one thing it's another. Do you think this thing is going to spread around the world? I hope it doesn't. How do you feel about this swine flu? Will you be extra cautious in the things you do? Will it limit your travel? Is there anyone from Mexico here that can give us a first-hand point of view? If so, are you scared? Will this put a limit on the things you will do?

Well personally i probably wouldn't want to have it. It might spread around the world, but you never know. Probably a good way of slowing it would be common sense like washing your hands. I probably wont have any plans of going to Mexico really now (No offence to Mexico, I've been there before and it was great. I'm just saying that because of the flu.). I kinda am scared and hope that it doesnt spread everywhere, and that it doesnt turn into some disastrous disease that kills over half the world. If its going to happen, its going to happen. We can try to slow it down, but we probably cant prevent whatever that will happen from happening.

Population control is a theory, however, it would be Gods population control.

Population control might be something, and some countries have started doing it, but that would probably not really help as much. Since the disease would still spread through somehow, and many religions would be against it

I guess this pandemic attack is something like the mad cow disease or bird flu many years back. We have to take precaution probably to eat lesser pork and switch to other meat or fish. Well to be frank, I would be extra cautious if there is a food imported from Mexico with pork products. However, worldwide are implementing strict health surveillance at immigration to detect any swine flu symptoms either from food products or even human. Hope this pandemic will go off soon and less people are affected by this.

It has noting to do with eating pork although it was typically been found in people who handle pigs.

I object. Haha. Seriously, it has been found in people who live in or travel to and from Mexico. Are all of these thousands that are infected people who work with hogs? Just a thought.

Do you remember a Stephen King book called 'The Stand'? In it, a virus was released from a big laboratory in America, and ended up killing most of the people on earth. I've always believed this could easily happen - whether by accident, or as a purposeful act. It's a very frightening thought, but there's nothing we can do about it - so best to just get on with life and worry about it when/if it happens.

No use in panicking, just make sure you wash your hands and don't go around anyone who just got back from Mexico or anyone who has it.
I'm sure a healthy diet helps a person get over it if they do get it.

hehe! we are all going to die one day. So what is a big deal? Instead of worrying so much about something that has not happening i just enjoy my day. I enjoy the moment I write this post. The NOW which is more precious and more real

I haven't heard a lot of it yet, I guess I don't watch enough news. But I hope it doesn't spread here in the U.S. but with Mexico right here at our door I'm afraid there is a big chance that it will. We'll just have to be cautious and hope for the best.

I'd have to say that Im not concerned but I can see why the DPH is concerned possibly because we have a large proportion of people with ill health, very dependent on medications and poor diets which compromise our health and children who are constantly being given antibiotics which compromises health and the young ones are the ones most at risk.
I stress the importance of vitamins to my children and though they do take a quality vitamin each day I do make sure they know that the best vitamins come from fruits and vegetables. I think thats all you can do--theres pollution everywhere around us and hundreds even thousands of strains of viruses so I have to say I do not agree with the fearmongering since psychologically some do allow it to take over their sense of reason but I just try to wish for the best and go about my life.

I don't know that I would call it fear mongerring. It is just being well aware of one's surroundings. This virus is serious and should be treated as such.

Well I am concerned about it. I definitely don't want to catch if it I can help it. And believe me, I have been doing what I can to not catch it. I just hope no one in Wal-Mart yesterday had it!
I have been pretty cautious since hearing about it. Fortunately I do have a few things going for me in the stuff the CDC has said to do. I've never traveled to Mexico and as far as I know I haven't been around anyone who recently has. I usually am not around large crowds. So I guess I do have a little bit better chance of avoiding it. Even then there have been no cases reported where I live.
I just hope there won't be many more deaths with this before it's all said and done.

Yeah, I sure hope that people don't continue to die from this, unless of course it is God's will. I hate to see suffering. Hopefully it will just die off. It takes 4 months or so to develop a vaccine, so hopefully it doesn't kill too many.
