Well , I have not done a typing course so honestly ,I have to look at the keyboard to look and reach out where each and every button is situated but now i am getting a little practiced using often so I remember some of the keys. Do you look at the keyboard for searching the buttons or type directly seeing at the moniter?

I don't look at the keyboard when I type. I look at the words I'm typing. But I took typing lessons during middle school where the teacher would actually put a piece of paper over your hands and disable the delete button so you had to see your mistakes and get better at typing.

That is an excellent method for teaching people to type. It certainly prevents cheating. You will learn more quickly if you challenge yourself and force yourself to not cut corners. Thanks for sharing this crazyredhead. Cheers.

I'm not an expert typist so I have to look in the keyboard when typing. I am quite acquainted in typing now because of mylot but the problem is it is not the right typing method or the right places of fingers in the keyboard. Right now I'm learning to type properly with the help of typing software I downloaded. It is pretty helpful and I'm learning to do it the right way. It is hard at first but with patience it could be done. It will be rewarding once I learned how to touch type, I wouldn't need to look at the keyboard anymore.

I no longer need to look at the keyboard when I am typing, I use the keyboard for hours everyday so its a very simple task to do now. When i first started using the computer I did alot of typing skill programs to increase my speed and accuracy. I think its helpful being able to type quickly and without looking.
There are lots of great free typing programs out there for anybody who wishes to get better keyboard skills!

Not all the time. I memorize the keys but sometimes when using different keyboard (aside from mine) espcially if it's not as soft as mine, I would look at it from time to time.
I've been dealing with computers for years now so I'm no longer have to look at the keys all the time while typing.

If I look at my keyboard I mess up.. so my answer is no I do not look at the keyboard. I use both hands and type anywhere from 50-80 words per minute.
I just find it so much easier for me not to look... lol
I do understand that some have the two finger typing or have to watch each letter they type. I have friends that way and say "how do you do that" I just say, "lots and lots of practice" :) :) Have a Blessed day..

I look at the key board quite a lot when I type but I use only three or four fingers total to type. I know where the keys are and if I try not to look at the keyboard I am about 90% acurate typing what Im trying to type but I find its just easier to look cause then I dont screw up too much.

I'm the same as you - I do look at the keyboard when I type, yet I still manage to type pretty quickly.
I am pretty good at typing accurately when I'm not looking at the keyboard but I don't feel as comfortable doing that.
Whilst I've been typing this response, I've been looking at the keyboard about 90% of the time :D

There are times that i look at the keyboards but most of the time i don't because i would really like to make it a habit not to look so i will be train myself to be a great typist and i really want to practice my typing skills. I think this is the best way and easiest way to learn the keys on the keyboard by not looking on it and i believe once i get used to it then i will increase my speed in typing.

When I went to school, I studyed economic, We had to learn the typewriter...it was before the computer time...lol. So yes, I have learned to write without to look at the keyboard...that make me able to write pretty much in any discussion. Take no time at all. Of couse, I do write some wrongs now or then, but I can feel it is wrong directly and do not need to look anyway...just use the delete button...lol

At times when I feel lazy or tired I certainly have to look at the keyboard, though when I am feeling well and on song as a touch typer I feel no need to look at the keyboard. Being able to touchtype certainly has many advantages.

I don't look at keyboard all the time while typing. I look at it only if I had made a mistake in typing. I am a new user of mylot and ater being one week here actively I feel I have improved my typing speed greatly. I have look much less to keyboard now. Typing fast really help here earning more money because you can give more replies to discussions.
