can you handle it when people bad mouth your music?

my music tastes mainly contain music from the many forms of rock and metal (eg. hard rock, soft rock, heavy metal and all those in between)
a couple of my friends have similar music tastes as me, but most dont. they like music which would make me smash my head into the nearest wall until my head was bloody and the pain overthrew the sound.
yet they tell me that the music i listen to sucks and im an idiot. this makes slightly angry that they have the nerve to say that after my music is, in my opinion, a million times better than theirs.
what do you think of people who make fun of the kind of music you listen to, yet have no music taste whatsoever?

I have a different genre of music, i prefer those alternative with a toppings of rock and pop melody. I usually want to hear love songs when i am in mood of recalling sentiments. As of now, my ears love to hear spanish songs. I found it cool and somewhat soothing to my soul especially the song NUNCA TE OLVIDARE. I really fell the love, the desire and the longing it wants to portray. When my sister heard me singing that song he thought that I'm crazy and out-of-this world person. She always tease me and calling me español. But I'm not get affected of the things people say on me, the hell i care. I just do what i want as long as it doesn't bother them.

I listen to ALL kinds of music, any audible to mankind, and especially for that, i have my own discrimination and taste. got it?
Maybe they would have the right to insult you if you are arrogant but play sloppy, but if that's not the case, man, tell them:
"GO, GET MUSIC EDUCATION"
