Next year, we will be choosing our next President and we hope for the best this time.
This maybe a dream question, but I think it's an interesting one. If you will be the next President, what will be your first priority? Here are some choices, but you can add more if your like.
1.0 Business and investment opportunities
2.0 Education sector
3.0 Corruption prevention
4.0 Peace and Order
5.0 Job opportunities
I will go for the Business and Investment, as I think this will help our economy grow as well as the chance for unemployed.

Can i not run for philippines presidency because i'm not a filippino?? hehe ^_^ I will prefer to run for my own country's instead.. lol =D
For me, it's always top priority to place our local interest on top of all others.. Because in terms of emergency and needs or even wartime, only our own citizens will standby their own countries, committing themselves to it ^_^
Of course, in order for that to happen, a president has to make sure its citizens are well taken care of, in terms of food, shelter and naturally, gurannted of a job ^_^ What i wont want to see most is, corruption within the country ^_^

if i would be a president
1. i will first concentrate on peace and order. Cause every one over the next are useless if the country you were handling doesn't have peace with each other! Justice will be served to those who committed crimes. No matter who you are!
2. Education- Every Filipino is entitled to free Education from Primary to College. when every one is educated then the three others will follow.
3. Job opportunities is 3rd cause when every Filipino is educated, there will be
less problem over unemployed and there are less problem over poverty.
4. Corruption- if any Filipino will commit to any corruption then he'll be punished no less than to be hanged over in Luneta, so every one will not commit corruption.
5. Lastly if we have a clean and crime free country, educated nation, well i guess more business investors will come and well might as well live a peaceful life over our beloved country.

If given the chance (though I never ever imagined to be like one) my first priority is education. The plight of the students especially in the public is so pathetic (I detest to use that word, but it really is). The lack of classrooms and even if there is, it is so congested with numerous students who could no longer hear or see the teacher because of the unsuitable environment.
The no. of school hours is also lessen in order to accommodate other students. This issue should be addressed soon in order for our economy to improve and be at least at par with our neighboring country.

I will try to clean first the streets and sidewalks with the street children and beggars. Will have a rightful institution for these poor people, where they would be feed, trained, educated and treated all like human beings of equal importance. Our country is said to be progressive with all the buildings rising here and there pastfoods are everywhere, several billions are being allocated in differrent sectors, we even send millions for help to other countries but the government overlooked these poor people who beg, sleep and live at the streets. The people who need medication, they have to beg for help on the radios and TVs for their dying relatives, what's the government doing. Why not give priorities to these before helping others why not help it's constituents first. When will our poor countrymen would experience free medicines and free hospitalization? Though there are cities like Makati who has free hospitalization for the the poor and Las Pinas who have 25,000 pesos allocation for hospitalization of their poor citizens, what about others. Should I become the next president I would give my first priority to the poor and the needy.

Hello my friend fatherblogger, good day to you! Well, your discussion is very interesting regarding the next coming election of 2010. If a single citiezen will be given a chance to be a President,I think each of them will have different priority because they have their own opinion and idea to make our country good and more great. Well, If I will be given a chance to win in the President position and give my first priority. I think i will be glad to tell my first priority. My first priority is people must have their own job because as i know if people will have their own job it will be great for us because it will help us to increase the rate of economy, then not only that the number of poor people will lessen, then next the time will came that there will be no longer poor people. Which there will be no street children because all people already have a job. Even if we will think that the number of corrupt people is big, but still as long as all people have a job it is good and nice to be hear because they no longer feel hunger. Then the next to my priority is those people in the government who are corrupt. I will punish them and put in to jail because of the bad things that they are doing. With my second priority I can help those slightly poor people to increase their earning so their badget to their family will increase also. Then the third and last to my priority is "business and investment" because with this matter the salary of all working people will increase and the volume of investor that will start a company will became big and many workers again will go focus in their job. Well, as you noticed with my priority, you can see that the focus of my priority is to job. I believe that if a person have a good job she/he no longer feel the low economy of the country. Then even in the market if the price of goods was slightly high, still people able to buy it because as Imagine if the two of your parents have a job their earning is big. Well, thank you! That's all the end of my response here in this discussion! I hope i give a good response! Happy posting and happy earning to everyone!

I guess my first act if I were to be President of the Philippines would be to eradicate corruption. I believe this is the main cause of all our country's problems and by eliminating it from our system would be the only solution to our sufferings. Also, morality and a sense of decency are some of the major factors that should be instilled to the people who are serving our country. It should also work both ways. The Filipino people should also adhere to this if we are to completely eradicate our country's problems. Sounds impossible? Only to the dreamer..

I would choose the business and investment opportunities, because, to solve the problem, the following four questions will resolve naturally.

I should say, eradication or lessening of corruption activities and increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of government agencies. When these are in place, the other things you enumerated will follow. With lesser corruption, businessmen and investors will be easily convinced to do business in the country. This in turn means more job opportunities. Lesser corruption also means more money to be used for worthy projects such as education and poverty alleviation. With more jobs and projects to decrease poverty incidence and better education, then peace and order will eventually follow as the law enforcers have lesser number of crimes to tackle.

If I going to be a President I think I'm going to prioritize giving jobs to all of the Filipino who is unemployed. Health benefits for those who can a afford to go to the Hospital I believe this is also the major problem of the Filipino. I hope that the President that would going to win next year would be trustworthy.

My first priority is provision of employment, educating people in being self employed or having their own business and just using the resources we have here in investing. Many people especially those who didn't really received formal education have to look or work for someone and not really informed bout making their own business. I guess that's it. My major priority, but I don't want to be the President too in the first place. ^^

It's a long shot for me to become the next president of the Philippines.
Anyway if I will be my priorities are as follows:
1. ERADICATE CORRUPTION.
Confiscate all wealth that has been stolen from both the country & citizens, proven made through corruption.
2. RIGHT TO EDUCATION TO ALL CITIZENS.
Rich and poor must have the right to education. Under no circumstances be denied.
Religion & foreign languages is a must in the curriculum.
3. RIGHT TO HEALTH WELFARE TO ALL CITIZENS.
Rich & poor have equal rights to health welfare & medication. With no excemption.
4. ENCOURAGE BOTH LOCAL & INTERNATIONAL INVESTORS.
Local investors should be encouraged and supported financially.
This will encourage educated citizens to contribute to local growth as well as solve unemployment.
International investors, should also be encouraged to promote the our resources and to improve our dignity as Filipinos and economy.
5. ELEVATE ALL CITIZENS FROM POVERTY WHO STRIVES FOR IT.
Given the chance to be proper educated, profession, employment, poverty will no longer be the goal.
6. PEACE & ORDER.
If all have a common goal for the Philippines, peace & order will be a secondary problem.
Where can we find someone to do this job?
We have to pray harder to elect this future president!

If given the chance to be the president of the phils my first priority is corruption prevention. Corruption is the root cause of all the problems in this country. If we can totally erase that thing, then all other problems will be resolve. So please vote for me! heheheh

First up on my list would be to eradicate or lessen poverty. To be able to achieve this goal, I would focus on strengthening the education standard in the country because the education standard in the Philippines is currently declining. Other countries now have the edge in english, math, etc. If one has a good education, it is not hard to find a job anymore, be it within the Philippines or abroad. Next on my agenda would be to focus on business and investment opportunities which in turn would generate new jobs for Filipinos; thus, also addressing the job opportunities issue. I think with all the aforementioned, if all of these are done, poverty would be substantially reduced. Lastly, I would select a candidate for President who is morally upright, intelligent, and is not corrupt. We should also not select a candidate for President just because he/she is popular, like Joseph Estrada who was a popular actor just before he became President.

I would address first poverty and the problem of corruption in the government. Absence of corrupt officials will definitely lessen poverty or even totally eradicate it. Then I'll give job to all jobless persons, open more individual entrepreneurship. Education should also one of the major concerns. People can prosper with education.

If I will be the president, I will make sure that I will be a good example over my staff. I will not corrupt, I will continue to serve my people. I believe that being righteous, my staff and other people under me will definitely follow my example.
Next, I will focus on the following: Education & Health then I believe Peace and Order, Business and investment and job opportunities will follow.
