Think And Create

I often wonder how some mylotters can come up with so many posts in a day, around 10 - 15 discussions. Where do their ideas come from? I am envious of these talented writers and thinkers. The most I can think of is 2 posts and that come sparingly. They are indeed storehouses of creative juices.
Sometimes you know you are creative, but brainstorms have not been coming to you lately. Rushing around at breakneck speed, you're wondering what happened to the creative juices? Are they all dried up? Or the aging brain is no longer productive?
Whatever it maybe, we are not in for any competition and I believe that the less I post the more time I have in attending to each and every responses that come to my discussions. How do you trigger that unthinking mind and keep your creativity alive?

you're right I also admire those great mylotters who posted a lot of discussions a day...I'm not used to post discussions here if my mind is not being creative or imaginative enough, plus I don't have that much of a talent as a writer, I think some have come up with their own ideas, while others look for a nice topic on the net and come up with their discussion as they create something for what they found...I have a friend who did that...her strategy is to look for a nice topic...then she just make up her own discussion. Hello zan, writing needs thinking and thought and then they must be coherent and again must not lose the integrity. To keep all these is not an easy task. I know you write well but as we are matured souls we can not afford to be cheesy and trivial. There must be something that sustains and identifies the writer. And for such writing one needs concentartion and just can not go on writing anything all incoherent.
I feel I would have made myself a writer and just on the way too. Lets see what follows.

Hi Rajib, you might as well become a full fledged writer as you have what it takes to be a good writer. Your strong foundation in this language is a plus factor and am sure your creative mind as seen in your writings here make you a potential novelist.

I take my ideas from day to day happenings in our life and the many unanswered questions which keep coming in my mind are convereted into some kind of discussion. I believe that quality is more important than quantity of discussion. Also, how a member treats his/her own discussion, if he/she posts comments on the responses received then it is difficult to start 10-15 discussions in a day, one cannot do justice with each response. I, therefore, do not try to post more than one discussion on any given day, so that I could easily post my comments on the responses received.

Hi! Zandi!
I believe if the topic of the discussion is such that more and more members can relate to the discussion, it becomes all the more meaningful and interesting.

So you get your ideas from your daily life happenings. Something that everyone can easily relate. I think it is impossible to start with many discussions in a day but they are people here who can manage. Of course quality cannot be counted anymore as they are not particular on that and they seems to be interested in quantity only.

hello to you. hugsssss... I am still down with the absess but wednsday I get them fixed so I will be happy and not under pain meds and groggy all the time. I hope this finds you doing better and feeling better.
I think that just looking around your home or your yard brings in the creativity. I also think daily life brings in some interesting discussions for some. But mostly, the imaginative mind does it for me. I can wander to places most would prefer not to. lol Can i come up with 10 discussions in one day? Yes, I am sure that if that were my goal I could certainly do it. maybe, while I am feeling half decent I should try it. hmmmm??? Shall we? Hugs to you from me... Always Darrel

Thanks Darrel for coming to my discussion even though you are not too well now. I hope you get well soon and be active once more.. We are totally in a different scenario altogether. A writer has a 'gifted talent' an inborn creative mind which needs no hard thinking to produce a nice piece of writing. While people like me are still crawling to string up words. When I meet good writers like you and the many others here, I feel like a dust in the desert and hope for the highest hope that I am understood well.

Actually to respond to discussion is easier than to start a popular discussion.
Some discussion I started hardly have any response, but some did attract a lot of responses.
I believe the highest number of responses was 33. That day I did nothing much except to reply to the responses. And earn about 80 cents.

Hi Zandi, agree with you, i will always comment on each and every response to the discussion I started.
Yesterday, I made a mistake in starting two discussion. I did not realize that these two are going to be so popular, each has 36 responses already! That will keep me very busy for the next two days.

I think there are people who just creates loads of new discussions each day. Many of them think it will earn them more. It may be the case. But i start when i really want to ask something and share something. I think its better when they come spontaneously.

Well, I never start that many discussions in a day and so I guess that I am not as creative as them. However, I do feel that I am fairly good at starting things based on life in general. Our everyday experiences sometimes begin some of the best discussions that we see on here. Just keep reading and learning lessons from life and I am sure that the writers' block will end soon.

Also, any local or national news seems to be good subjects to get responses about. Those are great discussion topics too.

LOL--goodness I never post so many discussions in one day as I try to backtrack and give replies to those who have responded to my discussions that I have already started. I'm always promising myself NOT to start new discussions until I finish doing that. But what can I say? I often get a lot of my ideas from news I hear. Being a night owl, I love watching the World News Now which often has more "lighthearted" pieces of news and not always so negative. I even get ideas for articles from that news show

I have excellent discussion ideal triggers when I'm the bathroom doing private business or taking a shower, also when I do dishes, then I totally forget about these great discussion ideals once I sit down on my computer seat.I actually have better ideals for topics/discussions for my blogs then mylot.I like responding more then creating discussions , it doesn't tie me down as much as the obligation of babysitting my own discussions.

Hi Zandi,
You are doing 2 posts, is it? I think you are doing a good job and always starting quality posts and doing justice to your responders too. I felt that is the maturity and not at all like the ‘aging brain is no longer productive’. I agree that some are starting many posts in a day and I wondered like you. But to be very frank I even stopped to read one of the member’s discussions simply because of the person is writing similar contents. Yes the topic is different and I appreciate the ability but in the same discussion there are repetitions of same sentences again and again and I really felt boring to read the same. For me many topics are flashing in my mind but I am very rarely to start just because of I am lazy to comment back and at the same time I don’t want to do injustice to my responders so the only solution is not to start many discussion as my own.

In actual fact, I am more like you. I like the idea of starting discussions and excited at the prospect of getting 'tons' of responses but am too lazy to comment to each and everyone especially when it is few pages of responses.
But I don't see it right not to comment as it is the only way of bonding goodwill to members here and a way of saying 'thank you and come again'.

Hey zandi! You are forgetting one very important fact,
quantity does not equal quality! There are some people that
can post both quantity and quality discussions, but that is
very rare! When you post a discussion it is always of a
quality that you can be proud of! It is always obvious that
you took time to think about what you are saying and gave
your discussions the utmost thought! I haven't posted even
one discussion yet this year! So what should I say? I just
can't think of a topic! Well, I can, but I am afraid that it
just won't be worthy! I don't want to disappoint! If I do
something I want to be able to show that I put my all in it!
You can see that when you do post a discussion that you
definitely do put your all in yours and that's what makes
them so special! More is not always better!

This may be related to personal experience, more experience, ideas and more naturally. Be a life people, things happening around us are the subjects for discussion to see if you can not feel the truth of which the.

Hello my dear friend zandi458 Ji,
You are absolutely right, I start any discussion after at laest one month and most,
what I pick up from here and there, that too, it may be helpful to others, as a exercise
to share with you all. I never worry, about increasing my earnings. I am always ready
to response others discussion. Right now, I am lagging for more than one month. I am
responding almost after 3 weeks. I nevr delete anything in my alert mail till I
respond. My juice is also dried out.
May god bless You and have a great time.

HI Zandi! You are not doing badly at all and you do come out with good discussion topics, present one included.Personally,I have many topics rushing in my mind at times, but I curb myself from immediately posting them because first of all I cannot do justice to all the comments. So, I prefer to take it slightly slow.Sometimes, two good discussions come to mind and then I cannot resist posting them at a day's interval.Otherwise I just cannot manage .People are kind enough to look at my discussion topics and so I feel dutybound to comment. So, that gains priority. And these discussion topics arise from nowhere , some incident at home, something that I read triggers it , etc,,.

Your feedback is most welcomed. I need to stay tuned to topics that are interesting to the mass and looking for one which has not been covered here is not easy and this sometimes paralyzed my thoughts. After reading many posts here I tend to have a faint idea as what my next write will be about. Like you I feel indebted to people who responded to my posts and that would take hours to complete going through all of them especially one that hit the roof. I like reading your posts as you are able to present your writings smoothly, and not too many of jargon words.

I dont make that many discussions in the run of a day.. like you i can't come up with something creative and interesting to other people.. If i'm sitting here and something comes to mind, then i post it.. usually they are silly, cause stuff just pops into my mind from my daily going ons. :P
like my last discussion was about how to find ripe fruit at the grocery store.. taht's not very creative.. but when written silly, or funny, it draws some people in i guess.. i dunno!!

I think you fare much better then me as the figure besides your name speaks loud of your activities here. Well, even a dull topic can be made interesting by injecting flowery words to make it more appealing and will drive in curiosity from other people. Again that needs a creative mind to make it happen.

Hi zandi, a very good question, I respond more to discussions as I never can think of anything worthwhile to discuss, yet at times there is something that comes to mind and I forget to put it down that is why mine are sparing...things do happen during the day, good and bad positive and negative...but my way is it never seems 'right' to put it in a discussion unless needed....littleowl

I try to do 3 a day and spend time fumbling around for a subject. I need the discipline of this or I will just let the whole thing slide. Now I am the first to say that each of my discussion are not masterpieces but I do seem to be able to come up with something each day.

Hi zandi! I think your discussions are intelligent and creative. I admit that I struggle to come up with good topics to post. I only start 3 or 4 discussions a week, let alone 10-15 per day! I find that my creativity 'goes to sleep' for a while, sometimes it can be for weeks and then it will 'wake up' with one idea that will usually be followed by another and I'll be on a roll! I love those times; that is when I write non stop for days! I don't experience a manic creative surge or anything; ideas will just gently flow.
I envy MyLotters that come up with brilliant discussions frequently, I wish I could! I think that all the practical details of every day life can fill my mind so much that there doesn't seem to be any room for anything else!
I do agree that by posting fewer discussions there is more time to reply to everyone's responses accordingly.
I get ideas from news, radio, overhearing conversations, anywhere really; the problem is they are not always brilliant!

some thoughts come spontaniously to our mind. actualy experiences help us to flow creative writings. don't see the quantities of others ideas, always notice the qualities of it. i have written five books including two novels. my observance towards lives and livings encourage me to express my feelings. pay attention to your surrounding world, there are sufficient materials which will help you to create some new. don't compare yourself with other. take care.
