I earned my first salary as a teacher in the year 1987 as India Rupees 847/-. That is a very low salary in these days, but in those days it was a reasonably a good salary and I could also pay my rent and but a few things with that amount. Waht was your first salary?

The first salary I earned came from a legit home-based online product review site. It was only $50, and since I've worked for it in just 4 days, I am still contented, satisfied and very happy for the small money I earned only all by myself. Until now, I am still writing reviews in the site because they pay well and I am enjoying their fair treatment for their writers.

Woah. 847 in 87. The year I was born. I know it's nothing when you compare it to the salaries you get now. But I'm still a student and first salary or payment I got was from a site which was 10. And guess what it was from myLot. After that I have earned more dollars from other sites and I'm trying to find some more to get some more money.

PS: I will be teaching for sometime after my graduation to get some experience. I know it will be great.

My first ever salary earned was S$1,500 from my first job as an assistant fashion designer for a fashion wholesale and retail company two years back. It was considered a low salary for me at that point of time as I was a degree holder and by right the market for starting pay for degree holder should be at least S$1,800. I quitted the job once I got my salary not because of the low salary but because the company sucks.

This is quite an interesting question which I really dislike to reveal but yes, today, the day has passed and now I am earning more than previous days..It was not more as I was just a starter so when I first join in a company they offered me Rs.8.5K which I feel was quite good at that time and also I was about to do my first job. I feel really glad to hear there offer and I immediately said yes to the job I got offered. I was so happy with those sum of money and as I got the salary I just spend all in shopping..which later I felt so bad that I could have saved a little from that time only..I didn't learn to save which is probably, not good..

Hi Cudamani,
In the year 1979, I became assistant lecturer at a university and receive a salary equal to the first 250 rupiahs. Enough to eat the cost of 1 person for 3 days.
