Enough is Enough?

I have always loved reading, however in this day and age it seems that the content for books, is getting about as stale as the plots for the less than captivating Hollywood scripts. My question is, when is enough enough? It seems that authors are focusing on trilogy, and beyond. Take the Harry Potter series, the Protector of the Snmall series, and the most recent literary craze the Twilight series. Have you ever read a book that you wish didn't have a sequel?

I understand what you mean, I do not believe I have read a book that did not have a sequel. The only ones that I sort of read were the harry potter books. Could some book series be done in a book? I am sure, but a lot of the detail and content would be lost. I sometimes have read books where I wish the story would have gone on and on. I was sad when I finished reading the Poisonwood bible. At the end the story have come full circle and it could not have continue in another sequel even if it the writer wanted to write it.
