that 300 and 500 is just open the computer ,anD I think 300 is not right number
If you do lots of work on it 1g maybe is not enough ,because someone said their
win7 use 1g or more RAM ,
"when you RAM is 1G ,you can use it
when you RAM is 2G,you can play it " -My opinion
ps.My English is poor.If there's mistake,please tell me,I'll changge it .THX~

I tried out the Beta version. It was good, better than Vista any way. I like the graphics. But the thing is sophisticated that I prefer to use xp.
Moreover there were some bugs. I uninstalled it.

I tried window 7 on my computer and it works fine.
My pc configuration is
Intel core 2 duo processor 2.2Ghz.
1 GB DDR2 RAM.
160 GB Hard disk
My C partition have a capacity of 20GB.
Window 7 have better look and feel than window vista and have more advanved sidebar and other in-built programs which requires more RAM than window vista.
So the memory requirement of the window 7 is greater than vista. Even with 1GB you feel slowness in the your pc functioning, so it is better to have memory greater than 1GB in case of window7
