I dont know about other countries but we sure have our share of idioms. Some I use are: I washed my hands of them, You are in a pickle, add fuel to the fire, a little birdie told me, beat around the bush. There are many many many others. Please share any that you have liked or heard even if you are from another country. I'm sure you have some.

Wow, I have heard many of them listed already but am trying to make a mental list of the ones I haven't but might want to use in the future :) Don't think this was listed "I have eyes in the back of my head" - ok mom used this on me a lot and I have used it on kids and grandkids myself.

LOL Hi sweetie - few months at one sister's dial-up worst in the world couldn't get on line but a few minutes here and there, another 6 weeks at another sister's no internet there, moved to apartment in Jan. but didn't get connected until this past week. Still couldn't afford it but been going crazy going to the library or trying to find open wireless connection. Rocking and rolling right now just in case I can't keep connected next month :) Lets see - if I do 100 responses a day on mylot that would cover the bill :( no way can do that with working all week but doing my best :) hugs to you too dear I needed that :)

Hi mssnow, please don’t ask me that. I’m completely in the dark myself. I’m just kidding and using the catchy idiom to make sentence here. Hope that you don’t mind. Yeah, in the dark here means “know nothing”. There are still some I like to use when writing or talking. It’s really sad to learn that many people have been in the hole or as poor as a church mouse for a while during this recession plight. I hope that the economy will rebound very soon. I like to make friends with happy go lucky type of people as they would always make me to feel relaxed and happy. Hopefully my answers in the italic text that giving here are really idioms and have hit the right nail on the head Happy posting!

I am Canadian and one of our idioms refers to if someone says that everyone is doing it, especially if it is something you do want them to do, you ask "If someone asked you to jump off a bridge, would you do it?" And for someone who is crazy, we say that "he is not playing with a full deck." or "he found the looney bird and he's laughing at the eggs."

How about, It's raining cats and dogs, or a sight for sore eyes. Any way I am an American and I know there are lots more but those are just a couple that come to mind right off.
